They're crumbling.
Just got the official boot from a very RW blog that I've been posting at for over 3 years. They know they are done and are circling the wagons. I was never a vicious blogger just put my two cents worth in on occasion, The straw for them was apparently my posting a link to Ann Coulter's huge gaffe on CBC about Canada sending troops to Vietnam. Well guess I'll have to find another one....

1. You have to find another one? Why?
You will not educate them. You will not give them cause to pause. You will be verbally abused, perhaps even physically threatened -- all for the sin of disagreeing with them.

This new breed of rightwing insanity is unhealthy, and I'd hate to see you become infected.

3. I read Freepville, and there is just no reasoning with these folks--why bother?
They truly believe that Christianity is threatened by Islam, and that we have to keep fighting them now to keep them from getting the upper hand. They believe a military solution is always best, anything else is appeasement. They believe we should have leveled Iraq from the outset--their only disgruntlement with the war, if they EVER have any, is that it was mismanaged to the point that there are enough Iraqis left today to still cause us trouble. But good luck to you. I don't think you'll change any minds.

4. Thanks
I'm not trying to change any minds, just curious to see what makes them tick, which is not much, basically guns, god and girls in my opinion.

7. Well they kicked me off so I guess I had some effect
whatever that would be, I don't think I changed anyones mind. This board although it was very right wing still let us "moon bats" as we were called to post, but I don't know something has happened and the blogger decided to purge the few of us who actually posted there for quite awhile.

10. People rarely admit it....
when their minds have been changed. It also doesn't happen right away most of the time.

9. Thanks for your efforts
Yeah, that ann sure is a brilliant one, as is her audience.

In 2004, my wife and I went to the NASCAR race in Charlotte and was staying at an Embassy's Suite's (I think) but across the highway was a nice sports bar devoted to the Steelers. I thought that was somewhat out of place but if it thrives, good for them.

I live near New Orleans and keep up with the Saints. Last week one of the members of the defense said they wanted to be as good as the old Steelers Defense, he said we want to be like the "Iron" Curtain. His heart was in the right place.

12. The Locker Room
is name of the bar, the only place in this city that I can drink the wretched "Iron City" There are a ton of hotels and restaurants near the speedway now, but staying close to downtown has its benefits as well. After Katrina you told me that Irene's was not damaged, is it still open? My husband and I want to get back to New Orleans very soon, I love that city. I rooted for the Saints during the NFC champ game last year. I hope they have a good run this year too..

14. Irene's is up and running
according to a site I have about 90+% confidence in. Also, there are 851 restaurants open in the New Orleans area, there were 809 before the hurricane so one might evoke progress. The ninth ward is still a mess. We drove down there last month and in some parts its like the Hurricane happened yesterday. And between insurance companies and government bureaucracy many citizens are getting raped on a daily basis.

However, the Quarter is up and running fine and dandy (eye witness account here.) And New Orleans is hosting three College Bowl Games this year; so if the Big Easy can get through another Hurricane season relatively unscathed things should get even better in the near term future.

18. I can't be bustin' too hard on a Saints fan.
Just ain't right. Actually, the Saints are my favorite NFC team. First pro game I ever saw in person was the Saints v. Pats in the Superdome circa 1980. Great experience. The Saints played a good game but, of course, found a way to lose.

19. Saints looked awesome last night against the Chiefs
Lets hope Cool Brees stays healthy and does not piss off Marie Laveau. I do wish they'd get rid of the black pants for the home uniform though. Their offense will be awesome this year. Come on down and check out a game in the dome (although I think all games are sold out.) New Orleans also will be hosting three College Bowl games including the BCS championship and in the most hospitable town in the country the french quarter is a nice stroll from the Super Dome; I usually leave at halftime and meander down to my favorite quarter bar and watch the second half on TV then watch the live show come to life after the game.

20. I really loved NO, Bosshog.
I lived over by Patterson for a couple years. Working on a tugboat.

Got to know the FQ pretty good. Back then, there were places you could get a big beer for a dollar, right in the Quarter. I liked the Absinthe House but I guess it's more of a tourist place.
