Cheney and the new importance/power of being VP . . . . |
|
First -- we've had a number of successions -- LBJ vs JFK -- in what was a planned coup --
Truman dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki --
And a near succession of Bush 1 vs Reagan . . . tho Reagan survived.
Being VP makes candidates more viable--?? Nixon was disappointed; rejected for JFK. But Bush 1 made it.
And, Cheney has used the VP office to act as president, it seems --
Nixon's Agnew, of course, resigned -- guilty of graft -- to make way for an unelected Ford Vice Presidency and shortly thereafter, an unelected Ford presidency.
Personally, I think we'd be better off ridding ourselves of the VP office -- and simply letting the Majority leader in Senate take over until there are new elections. One month would be sufficient, I think.
Otherwise, let's ELECT the VP -- with separate campaigns for VP -- and not let the candidates pick their running mates.
I think within the VP has lain a lot of mischief --

1. What we have to worry about is the secret plan they have in the |
|
event of what they claim is an attack or event. They are going to break the rules on that one - count on it. The plan probably has George on vacation in Crawford - grounded, even from fund raising. Then it's Cheney - and Cabinet members and military brass are going to take over - (all under Bolten and Ledeen?).
