Save Air America in the 6th largest US city!

See my post at http://www.bradbloc.com/?p=4997, then take action. The GOP views San Diego as key to winning California and the presidency in 2008, now that CA has moved its primary up to Feb!

'Clear Channel Rumored to Shut Down San Diego's Only Progressive Talk Radio Show!'

KLSD Air America programming could flip to sports format at any time, sources confirm

2. I stream KLSD almost all the time! On Stacy Taylor's show today,
he was saying the change is NOT CERTAIN. Apparently it's an on & off situation now and nobody is really sure which way it will go.

4. Stacy is urging everyone to call the station's advertisers;
he thinks it's all about the bottom line.

7. Unfortunately one of them is McMillin Real Estate, and that would be a waste of time!

I've been disgusted with hearing their ads on AAR over the last month, since Corky McMillin has been one of the worst developers around here that has pushed Republicans into office and corrupting our local government here. Duncan Hunter's brother is a VP in his company.

In fact, given that his ads just started showing up recently, I'm now wondering if his "influence" as an advertiser helped trigger this move too! It would be worth trying to find out if one could!

And another KLSD advertiser, Corky's Pest Control, I don't think is Corky McMillin owned. I think it is a different Corky. Looked it up a while back.

3. Do you realize that in many areas, Air America isn't allowed?
And the Dems continue not supporting A NEW IMPROVED FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.

8. How is Air America not allowed?
Is there a law against talk radio in your area?

10. No laws, but tight corporate control during peak hours because
of threats from hosts like Limbaugh who threatened to pull their shows if randi Rhodes is put on opposite him.

5. This would be a big problem for AAR...
...because, in some markets, AAR syndicates KLSD's Jon Elliot for their overnight hours.

9. The key to saving Progressive Radio is really simple.
Just listen to it, Air America Radio like any other radio business will rise or fall based upon how many listeners they have.

11. Then why do they keep delaying putting up a bigger transmitter?
Many areas in San Diego can't even hear the station! They say they have plans for a more powerful transmitter, but keep postponing installation.

Guess we'll see it right after the all-sports format goes into play...which will mean they're not serious about wanting to maximize listenership of progressive talk.

14. Like I said.
People don't drive so they can listen to the radio. They play radio while driving to stave off boredom while they have to be on the road.
