Ted Nugent Threatens to Kill Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton During Vicious Onstage Rant
Renegade right-winger Ted Nugent recently went on a vicious onstage rant in which he threatened the lives of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.” Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming “freedom!”

This isn’t the first time Nugent has been caught spewing hatred. Last January, the guitarist caused a scandal for Republican Texas governor Rick Perry when he wore a Confederate flag shirt and insulted immigrants at Perry’s inauguration event. In July, Nugent was quoted in a Wall Street Journal story blaming “stoned, dirty, stinky hippies” for “rising rates of divorce, high school drop-outs, drug use, abortion, sexual diseases and crime, not to mention the exponential expansion of government and taxes.”

Democrats watch talented bands like the Dixie Chicks.

Republicans watch 70 year old what's his name.

63. Yep, on the MTV Special "Daughters of Rock Stars"
(which may be different from the special you were thiking about)

Child Molestin' Ted's daughters (to his credit it did not sound like he molested THEM) even related a story of one child, particularly and heinously young, according to the duaghters, "she was out in the back yard playing baseketball with our little brother." and while they didn;t mention the age, I would infer from how they were speaking, that the child could have been no more that 14 and probably 12 or 13.

To their credit, Ted's daughters put their collective foot down, and saved that girls from molestation, as they tell the story. To Ted's credit, he didn't molest his daughters, and on this particular occasion, Ted did not molest the small child he had brought home, so innocent she was out in the driveway playing basketball innocently, unaware that, had Ted's daughters not stepped in, at he very least she would have been statutorily raped, had she resisted, it would have been straight-up rape.

Ted's response, with a smirk, "You know I'm a breeder, girls."

If anyone thinks I am lying or exaggerating, this special will likely run again someday.

Watch it.

146. I was just thinking about that group when I heard about this
the ones who raised such a fuss about the dixie chicks, whoopie goldburg, and the others who had the nerve to say how they felt about Bush and the NeoCons. And even then, those on our side didn't threaten to kill anyone.

I remember when Jon Bon Jovi made a comment about against the war in Iraq and he pissed off several people in the crowd. (he was in dc at the time). But not once did he say that he wanted to kill Bush.

So, where is the outrage againt Ted? He actually threatened to kill someone. I really do think that free speech stops at talking about killing another person.

39. I think the rules are pretty much the same
Obama and Clinton are protected by the Secret Service. Obama received protection earlier than usual, because he had received death threats already - just for signing up to run for president. Mrs Clinton, of course, has Secret Service protection for several reasons. She probably hasn't gone the the store alone since early 1992.

If any of the major candidates are threatened, someone should go to jail.

Upon further review, I don't think Nugent actually threatened them. What he said was rotten, but well within the bounds of free speech, unless he said more than what I heard and saw.

"In a July 15, 1990, Detroit Free Press interview, Nugent crowed about how he managed to dodge the draft. He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he disavowed personal hygiene. The last ten days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and with a week to go until the physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether. When the big day came, he had been living in excrement-caked and urine-stained pants."

What an excellent right-wing role model!

“But if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed all the Hippies in the foxholes. I would have killed everybody.”

I think he would have started with himself. Or had another reason to fill his pants.

47. The "freedom" to molest little girls. CALLING COURTNEY LOVE!
http://ronmwangaguhunga.blogspot.com/2004/03/courtneys-underage-ted-nugent-sex.html
Courtney's Underage Ted Nugent Sex Allegation

Another day Courtney Love bombshell, but this one is particularly disturbing, so I'll keep the snark to a minimum. One wonders if illegal underage sex is what Nugent means by quality of life upgrade that the Republican Party represents. On the Howard Stern Show today, Courtney Love admitted, after heavy questioning, to allegedly having had oral sex with Republican Ted Nugent at the age of twelve. This is an impossibly horrible revelation -- is there a statute of limitations for this sort of thing? -- and explains quite a bit about Courtney Love's disfunctional relationship to the rock and roll lifestyle.

At the Republican convention several years back, Nugent gushed to ABC News, via a chat:

"I was very proud to assist, with our Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of America Texas members, to send Ann Richards on her terminal nacho date with Cuomo and help elect a real American as governor of the great state of Texas. George W. Is my American Blood Brother."

Nugent runs the Ted Nugent Camp for Kids, which, according to their website:

"Following Fred's direction on their last hunt together, Ted created this incredibly successful Kamp for children to learn about nature and man together. A 100% volunteer 501C3 non-profit corporation. Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids is operated by qualified families and individuals who deeply care about children and their futures. Every child is treated with love, affection and spiritual guidance by our dedicated volunteers. Lessons in resource stewardship, individual accountability, the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule, Hunter Safety and law, International Bow Education (IBEP ) and basic lesson in life are driven home in an open honest ,caring setting in the wild. Two weekends each summer for kids 9-15 will touch will touch them deeply for up-grade. True North."

Finally, In a Salon interview in 2002, "(Nugent) names a wild boar after Janet Reno ('the only thing missing was the purple dress and he-man haircut'), and describes the same boar as emitting a 'Courtney Love-like squeal.'"

No doubt the very folks Page Six and/or another entertainment outlet will be all over this tomorrow. We hope they can get Nugent to explain himself so we can get to the bottom of Love's serious allegations and whether they have a basis in fact.

I'm sure that the evangelical former governor and current President would be pleased at the relation. Courtney Love called Howard Stern on his cell phone at around 8 am.

"She thinks she can just pick up her phone (and call me) and we'll be doing my radio show," said the amused Stern.

Apparently, Courtney has some trouble distinguishing between real life and the public persona, according to Howard's sidekick.

"He knows how to be Howard Stern when he's off the air," snapped Robin Quivers, curtly.

As the morning conversation continued, Stern asked Love, "so what's going to happen to you?"

"I'm gonna have to retire," replied Courtney, tongue in cheek.

On injured Daily News photographer Dara Kushner, Love was equally snarky, "her nose was grazed, but let's go out in an ambulance anyway."

And Love didn't mince words when it came to backing Howard on his FCC problems.

"Clear Channel can eat me -- give me some (props) for slamming Clear Channel for you."

"... That's very brave," replied Stern.

The two bantered about an upcoming Love appearance on Jay Leno. in which she hopes to come off as normal to America.

"Leno is Letterman Lite," attacked Stern, who has been feuding with the former Doritos pitchman since The Tonight Show swiped Stuttering John Melendez.

Finally, when Stern asked about the homeless man who suckled at her breast, she explained, "we were mobbed at a Wendy's -- I don't remember, he grabbed my body." Then, "how about I punch him and go to jail?"

Then when asked what would happen in her custody battle as a result of the offending picture, Courtney snapped, "don't you go near Francis (Bean), she's fine."

At "press" time, the two were still chatting it up; she had grabbed a cab from her loft came to the studio.

IS THIS TRUE??????

How Nugent got out of the Vietnam draft:

He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says. “… but if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed, or I’d killed all the hippies in the foxholes…I would have killed everybody.” - Detroit Free Press Magazine , July 15, 1990

84. At the very least, he's a blatant hypocryte
Who knows how many bucks Nugent's made selling records and playing concerts to brain-damaged "stoners" who thinki his guitar playing is cool. And to be honest, he's not half bad. His playing, I mean... but his Atilla right wing politics have been showcased by him for years, from his happy deer hunting trips to his contempt for anyone who takes anything stronger than coffee to his trance-like support of the Nixon, John Towers, and George Jr. school of "screw the poor" politics and his rabid support of the Iraq war.

I have never bought a Nugent record and never will.

BTW - I'm not a lawyer, but isn't threatening to kill someone a crime in some states?

In some states you can carry firearms openly in public, but I doubt California is one of them. However, House of Blues is private property, so I don't think that applies.

However....

California has a ban on so-called 'assault weapons', and the semi-automatic AR-15 rifles (with protruding pistol grips, the horror, the horror) certainly qualify. He probably brought those from his home state for the performance, so I don't know if Califoria can nail him with having them or not, but it would be worth looking in to.

157. Gawd, I hate California's gun laws
Did you know that there are 113,964 words in California's gun laws? And that was in 2005!

A person may not possess or transport an assault weapon or .50 BMG rifle, as defined, unless the weapon has been registered as an assault weapon or .50 BMG rifle with the Department of Justice, or the person has obtained a permit for that weapon from the Department. (Penal Code §§ 12276,
12280, 12285, 12286.)

A lawfully possessed assault weapon or .50 BMG rifle may be transported for any lawful purpose
if it is unloaded and either securely locked in the trunk of a vehicle or in a locked container carried inside the vehicle other than the utility or glove compartment. (Penal Code §§ 12280(m),
12285(c)(7), 12026.1.)

The NRA's pamphlet on the matter is basically a synapsis of it:

http://www.nraila.org/statelawpdfs/CASL.pdf

There does not seem to be an except for people visiting with an 'assault weapon', which would mean that if Nugent brought those rifles from out-of-state, he's in trouble.

Maybe he can get somebody local to claim the guns were Californian, I don't know.

I'll post the question in the Gungeon and see if anybody knows.

- and I'm NO fan of Ted's, BTW. He said to "suck on these" and he said to "ride this" but that's the same as saying "bite my ass" or "suck my ****". It implies no active threat and the persons the remark was directed to would have to take action themselves by sucking or riding to achieve what Ted was spouting off about.

He's rude - He's crude - He's gross and out-of-control. But, he didn't make any threats to anyone. Freedom of Speech - sometimes we don't like it but Thank God we've got it.

104. Here's how the yellow bellied coward got out of military service....
ON MILITARY SERVICE

He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says. "... but if I would have gone over there, I'd have been killed, or I'd have killed, or I'd killed all the hippies in the foxholes...I would have killed everybody." - Detroit Free Press Magazine , July 15, 1990

I thought I read that somewhere. I did see him in concert in Portland, Oregon in 1982. Absolutely the worst concert I have ever been to. The worst. I only went because my roommate got 2 free tickets to it. I still felt like I had gotten ripped off. Sammy Hagar was the opening act and he was only marginally better.

Amazing hypocrisy in this country. The Dixie Chicks make a joke about being from the same state as George W. Bush and they get their lives threatened and their careers get hurt. This moron talks about KILLING 2 presidential candidates and somehow I don't think he will go through even half the crap that the Dixie Chicks went through.

145. I just posted that same question upstream. Maybe Slackmaster can help
He's pro-gun and lives in San Diego.

Nugent probably brought them from his home state to California EXPRESSSLY because they give people like Feinstein a fit. In California, I believe, it is no longer legal to buy them new, nor sell them to anybody else in the state. And they have to be registered, the registry of which closed some years ago.

But I don't know if California law prohibits visitors to the state from bringing them in.

149. It is if, say, Nugent was trying to move to California
He could not register those two guns he had on stage, and without registration he could not legally own them.

But most states have a clause allowing vistors to bring them in. For, example, shooting competitions, hunting trips, or being in transit while on a journey.

I just can't say. But it's worth looking in to. If it's a felony, he might have his right to own firearms removed completely!

Traveling with Firearms in California

HANDGUNS

California Penal Code section 12025 does not prevent a citizen of the United States over 18 years of age who is not lawfully prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, from transporting by motor vehicle any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container.

The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code Section 12026.1.

SHOTGUNS AND RIFLES

Nonconcealable firearms (rifles and shotguns) are not generally covered within the provisions of California Penal Code section 12025 and therefore are not required to be transported in a locked container. However, as with any firearm, nonconcealable firearms must be unloaded while they are being transported. A rifle or shotgun that is defined as an assault weapon pursuant to Penal Code 12276 or 12276.1 must be transported in accordance with Penal Code section 12026.1.

REGISTERED ASSAULT WEAPONS

California Penal Code section 12285(c)(7) requires that registered assault weapons may be transported only between specified locations and must be unloaded and in a locked container when transported.

The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code Section 12026.1.

151. I wonder if he has a Entertainment Firearms Permit?????
Edited on Sat Aug-25-07 03:41 PM by stimbox
Entertainment Firearms Permit

Senate Bill 231 (Statutes 2004, Chapter 606) establishes the Entertainment Firearms Permit (EFP). Subdivision (s) of Penal Code section 12078, as amended, authorizes EFP holders to possess firearms for use as props in motion picture, television, video, theatrical, or other entertainment productions. The EFP is recognized by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) as an Alternate Brady Permit. Consequently, EFP holders are exempt from the federal National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check requirements for loans of unloaded firearms for use solely as props in a motion picture, television, video, theatrical, or other entertainment production or event. Loans of unloaded firearms from California firearms dealers licensed pursuant to Penal Code section 12071 to EFP holders for entertainment purposes are also exempt from the Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) requirements.

Penal Code section 12078 (s) (2), as amended, provides the following statutory exemptions to a Federal Firearms Licensee who loans an unloaded firearm for use solely as a prop in a motion picture, television, video, theatrical, or other entertainment production or event to a person who possesses a valid EFP issued pursuant to Section 12081:

The private party dealer record of sale (DROS) filing requirement of subdivision (d) of Penal Code section 12072.

The requirements of subdivision (f) of Penal Code section 12072 mandating the transfer of a firearm to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) holder in this state not occur unless the FFL first provides proof of California firearms dealership licensure pursuant to Penal Code section 12071 or proof of exemption from California firearms dealership licensure requirements.

The Penal Code section 12801 requirement that no person may loan any handgun to a person who does not possess a valid Handgun Safety Certificate.
Penal Code section 12078 (s) (2), as amended, also provides the following statutory exemptions to a California firearms dealer licensed pursuant to Penal Code section 12071 who loans an unloaded firearm for use solely as a prop in a motion picture, television, video, theatrical, or other entertainment production or event to a person who possesses a valid EFP issued pursuant to Section 12081:

The firearms transfer requirements of subdivision (d) of Penal Code section 12071.

The private party transfer requirements or subdivision (c) of Penal Code section 12072.
