Post Your Favorite All-Time Lies Told by the Bush Family Here.
It's the weekend. Have some fun.

Post your favorite all-time lies as told by any member of the Bush Family. Lying, after all, is the very hallmark of the Bush Family. It's what they always fall back to when they want to get their way whether it's making war or just plain old making money.

What's your favorite Bush Family Lie. Post it here and honor the Bush Family member by name and with attribution...after all credit to whom credit is due.

I have just three, but there are sooooo many more juicy Bush Family Lyin' Quotes.

What's your favorite Bush Family Lie?

"312 premature babies at Kuwait City's maternity hospital...died after Iraqi soldiers stole their incubators and left the infants on the floor." --President George H. Bush whipping up the American public to make war against Saddam Hussein, 1990.

FACT: President Bush not only knew he was telling the American people a lie, but far worse, had the story fabricated by the PR firm of Hill & Knowlton in order to sell the war to the public.

"A report came out of the Atomic -- the IAEA -- that they were six months away from developing a weapon. I don't know what more evidence we need." George W. Bush, September 7th, 2002 at Camp David.

FACT: The IAEA never gave George W. Bush such a report.

"Evidence from intelligence sources, secret communications, and statements by people now in custody, reveal that Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists, including members of Al Qaeda." - George W. Bush's "State of the Union Address", January 2003.

FACT: Saddam Hussein did not harbor any members of Al Qaeda. George W. Bush now claims he never claimed that Hussein had any relationship with Al Qaeda. Lying then. Lying now.

27. "The longest thread in DU history"
LOL! I still love the "compassionate conservative" bullshit. That would match his dad's "A kinder and gentler nation" lie.

I'm hoping we can get some Jeb lies. Some Neil lies. Some Barbara lies. Maybe even some Marvin and Prescott lies.

In any event, this should be fun. :hi:

Minister: I wish to discuss the tariff.
Firefly: Sit down. That's new business. No old business? Very well. Then, we'll take up new business.
Minister: Now about that tariff.

Minister: No, we should take up the tax.

30. 'Just for that, you don't get the job I was going to give you'
"What job?"

"Secretary of war."

"All right, I take it."

"Sold. Now that you're secretary of war, what kind of an army do you think we should have?"

"Well, I tell you what I think. I think we should have a standing army."

"Why should we have a standing army?"

"Because then we save money on chairs."

15. Here's two more good ones (emphasis added)
March 18, 2003

Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President: )

Consistent with section 3(b) of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243), and based on information available to me, including that in the enclosed document, I determine that:

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Sincerely,

GEORGE W. BUSH

18. Don't forget this classic . . .
The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed in the 1990s that Saddam Hussein had an advanced nuclear weapons development program, had a design for a nuclear weapon and was working on five different methods of enriching uranium for a bomb. The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa. Our intelligence sources tell us that he has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes suitable for nuclear weapons production. Saddam Hussein has not credibly explained these activities. He clearly has much to hide.

The dictator of Iraq is not disarming. To the contrary; he is deceiving. From intelligence sources we know, for instance, that thousands of Iraqi security personnel are at work hiding documents and materials from the U.N. inspectors, sanitizing inspection sites and monitoring the inspectors themselves. Iraqi officials accompany the inspectors in order to intimidate witnesses.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . -- State of the Union Message, January 28, 2003
