Bet you never knew Katie Couric's a liberal.
:eyes:

In the book, Klein touches, but only lightly, on Couric’s well-documented liberal leanings; the Media Research Center, however, has cited over a thousand examples of her on-air expressions of bias. Among the highlights, she has called Ronald Reagan an “airhead,” lectured Charlton Heston on gun control and was always full of admiration for the leaders of the Million Mom March, and her very special favorite, Hillary Clinton. Klein claims that at the end of her years on the morning show, it was her increasingly diva-like behavior, her high- fashion clothes, heavy make-up and flashy stilettos, coupled with newspaper reports of her big-ticket salary, that made her less appealing to the women viewers who were once been her greatest fans. But the liberal point-of-view that she frequently shared, always with the underlying assumption that the women in the viewing audience would agree with her, also may have had a part in chipping at her Q ratings. They were even lower than Dan Rather’s. <snip>

Somehow I missed the "well-documented" report. Anybody got a link?

1. Ronald Reagan WAS an airhead...
That's hardly "liberal bias."

2. Oh, yeah, she's liberal like the media is liberal. I've watched her
protect Georgy Boy on Today Show interviews like a pit bull.

Not on TODAY. She first rolled over on CBS. Before that she WAS a liberal.
That big salary may have shifted her rightward.

Here's the rollover: http://mediamatters.org/items/200609080011

14. I thought she was fiestier on that program. She was no paragon of leftwing virtue,
but she wasn't a rollover on that show, either--here's some examples, and please forgive the 'source:'

The assclown writing this shit clearly has an angry boner for the woman, or something. But it's clear from his invective that he regarded her as a Today Show leftie. The truth is probably that she was closer to the center in those days.

I just cannot watch her now, though--that Bush interview was vomitous. And the CBS news just ... SUCKS now.

Wish they'd bring back Dan Rather, now that the bastard who got him in hot water is in boiling water himself...

19. Well, I guess I'm thinking more of the Couric I saw before her last
year on Today. Also, it sounded like she might have been trying to trip-up in the first link and distract in the second.

I agree with you. Dan Rather should be back. Couric is and always will be crap, but liberal? No way.

3. For a "well documented liberal" she was sure quick to put Rush on the air.
I haven't seen a "well documented liberal" report the news in quite a long time. And the ones that do lean in our direction (Keith and Bill Moyers) at least know how to be a credible journalist rather than just being annoying gasbags who tout White House directives.

13. Oh for Pete's sake
Yes, she's a liberal, but unfortunately she works in an industry that has to project an unbiassed front. So she bends over backwards to try and avoid excoriation by the right wing nuts.
Grow up everybody - you come across as so immature.
And if this gets me tombstoned, well, tough.

21. FWIW ....
I don't think Katie's in either camp.

She's her favorite cause. Everything else is just stage scenery.

Curious, though, how you're able to state unequivocally "Yes, she's a liberal." Do you have a "well-documented" report I don't know about?

18. At one time, before she began dating the young guy I think she's with now,
she was dating a beer distributor who is a known big Bush contributor--and was engaged to marry Laura Ingraham until her breast cancer diagnosis (he skedaddled soon after...what a man, eh?).

22. Label all who "report" news (Foxed down)
1. It adds to the agenda of labeling the media / press as liberal, for the Right Wing to parrot all the time.

2. It potentially discredits anyone who may end up reporting corruption and crimes of the Right Wing, if people have been barraged with "liberal" allegations about the reporter.

23. Baloney. Now that they've used her up, they're spitting her out. NOW she's a Democrat.
since her ratings are in the toilet (because people are SICK of the repuke bullshit). She has served her warmongering usefulness.....time to trash her. Will people ever learn the repuke party is nothing but a bunch of hateful people out to further their hateful, greedy, warmongering agenda? When they don't need you anymore, you're a Democrat......disposable trash. Katie really should have known better. Serves her right.

mascara and lip gloss, was a real turn-off.

I don't care to watch an overgrown cheerleader read me the news. Meredith V. is so much more real!
