3. Which Candidate Won't Invade Iran?
I was wondering.

Which candidate should I vote for in the upcoming election if I don't support invading Iran? Who will maintain diplomacy with Iran and not get America bogged down in another quagmire?

4. I don't believe any announced DEM candidate...
... will invade Iran, if elected. Including Clinton.

There's still a year and a half of GOP control of the executive branch , however; plus the possibility that we will not win the WH.

So the prospect of war with Iran ( I think it's more likely to be a 'massive' aerial strike than an 'invasion') is quite real.

5. In Their Campaign
Yes, but the Senate passed a measure against Iran 97-0 and I believe Obama and Clinton voted YAY. That translates into a vote in favor of getting the war drums beating. So, whose campaign will stand up against invading Iran when Bush in fact does launch strikes this fall?

6. Like Melissa Etheridge, I've been asleep the ....
... last few days so I'd like to see what the actual wording of the resolution was/is before making a judgment. My instinct is that it was pretty vague and/or mild if it passed 97-0 but it's only an instinct.

>>>So, whose campaign will stand up against invading Iran when Bush in fact does launch strikes this fall?>>>

Hopefully all of them; certainly your guy and.... I'm hoping... Edwards?

Did he take a position on the resolution?

In any case, triangulating around anti-Iranism is one thing. Launching a premeditated first strike is something only the forces of unmitigated evil would actually undertake. I don't include Obama... or even Clinton in that category.

You should.

If Obama is calling for strikes in Pakistan, he's definitely going to be calling for something after Bush puts out his phony case for war in Iran.

If attacking Iran has anything to do with al-Qaeda, which it will, than we can expect all politicians to be Orwellian sheep and demand or support strikes against Iran.

The only guy who won't follow suit... That's right. Dennis Kucinich.

9. Well, I don't see Edwards or Obama....
>>>The only guy who won't follow suit... That's right. Dennis Kucinich.>>>

backing a pre-war propaganda build up on Iran comparable to 2002-Iraq so I think you overstate your case here. Hopefully we won't find out.

From the "Lift Where You Stand" dept.: Has Kucinich ( or anyone in the House, for that matter) introduced any sort of counter-resolution? For instance, a resolution *against* any 'pre-emptive' strike against , or invasion of Iran?

Again... I've been out of the loop for a while; but if "no", why not?

10. Yes, he has introduced a resolution
First off, let's take a look at Dennis Kucinich's history lesson.

Then, we can truly honor the judgment behind this resolution that Kucinich has co-sponsored.

He did not author it. The bill is H.R. 3119.

The GovTrack website is loading for me so I cannot prove he signed on to sponsor H.R. 3119. I can cite this as proof that he is a vocal opponent of any strikes on Iran.

12. Only Impeachment Can Stop An Iran Attack
And Moveon is AWOL on impeachment.

All the petition whining in the world can't substitute for action.
