When will it be too late to impeach Bush & Cheney?

It seems pretty obvious that the Democrats want to leave Bush & Cheney in place as an ongoing example of how bad republicans can be when people go to the polls.

There is still a chance we could force their hand, but when will it be too late, either practically or for political reasons.

It would be really lame, but Democrats could always start impeachment the day AFTER the election, so they could have their cake (or rather Caligula) and eat it too.

4. January 20th, 2009. After that, we can hopefully send them to the Hague to

stand trial for crimes against humanity.

As much as I'd like to see them impeached and removed ASAP, I really think that it's more important for the whole world to see them put on trial for their crimes, be convicted, and spend the rest of their lives in prison.

This won't erase the stain and shame they've left us with. But it might help to alleviate it in the eyes of the rest of the world -- and ourselves.
