I'm nobody's doormat, nobody's meat. They can't kick me in the gut and kick me in the face and expect me to forget it. Equate the word liberal with human garbage, accuse us of subtle racism because we give a crap what happens to people who aren't exactly like us.
We took it on the chin for years and too few of us learned to fight back. When their whip-cord words lashed out, we grew entangled, unable to rise or stand, or even speak out the way we should. When they went after the Clintons, we stood by on the sidelines, blinking in astonishment at their venomous hatred.
No blow should go unanswered. No attack un-returned. Never again should we let their words fall upon us without a reply in kind. They think our compassion is a weakness, that our willingness to envelope the needful into our collective consciousness is a vulnerability.
We must work to prove them wrong at every opportunity. Even if our elected reps cave to this administration's bully tactics, we should not. We should answer back in a single voice "FUCK YOU!" Every time.
We are not their meat, to be devoured at their leisure. Our open-mindedness and our compassion are our strengths. The fact that we don't see ALL followers of Islam as the enemy, the fact that we don't condemn people for the color of their skin, or the language of their culture, or the gender of their lovers, is our strength.
We don't have to drink their poison to match them strike for strike. We have truth where they have lies and exaggeration. We have the light while they have the shadows in which they operate. We don't have to play nice with them. And we shouldn't.

Rush Limbaugh is a hypocritical druggie freak who'd be sitting in jail if not for his political connections. Bill O'Reilly is a puss-bag serial sexual harasser who would've been fired by any reasonable, rational employer for his misdeeds. Ann Coulter is a vile harpy whose only claim to fame is that she can spew hatred and venom with no sign of a conscience or even a human heart.
None of our people need to fear these creatures. They could be silenced with a word. Rush's word is "Oxycontin." BillO's is "Loofah."
Could you imagine? Some would-be victim, an interviewee, looking at BillO and saying, "why don't you just shutup, loofah-boy."
Or Rush. "Them's big words coming from the Oxycontin Kid."
Why should we care WHAT these assholes have to say?
Or Ted Nugent, for that matter? "Loincloth wearing, vine-swinging, misogynistic wannabe caveman. Like your opinion is worth a thimble full of pocket lint. The only people stupid enough to solicit YOUR opinion are even crazier than YOU are."
We've allowed the viciously insane to bully us into silence for far too long. Not only US, but our elected representatives and candidates. "Oh, no. But what will ________ say?"
