How "Fearless" Ted Nugent Got Out Of Vietnam !!!
Edited on Sat Aug-25-07 11:08 AM by WillyT
<snip>

As patriotic as Uncle Ted claims to be, he pulled a nasty stunt to evade Uncle Sam during the Vietnam War. In a July 15, 1990, Detroit Free Press interview, Nugent crowed about how he managed to dodge the draft. He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he disavowed personal hygiene. The last ten days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and with a week to go until the physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether. When the big day came, he had been living in excrement-caked and urine-stained pants. Always the hero, however, Nugent reassured the Free Press, “But if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed all the Hippies in the foxholes. I would have killed everybody.”

How Fearless Ted Made Up For Missing Vietnam !!!

<snip>

TED NUGENT insists he has paid his dues for avoiding the draft to fight in Vietnam - he spent "a couple of weeks ready to rock" with a giant machine gun in Afghanistan two years ago (04). The Republican rocker feels awful about avoiding the army in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but he believes he has more than made up for it. He says, "Do I feel guilt and embarrassment? Yes. "I wish I'd understood how important America's fight against our enemies was. "But did I go to Fallujah two years ago? Damn right I did. "And was I in Afghanistan, manning a 50-calibre machine gun in a Chinook, ready to rock? Yes. "Was I there for years? No, a couple of weeks. But I am not a coward."

THIS LAST STORY IS APPARENTLY SATIRE !!! (Sorry for not thoroughly checking it out!)

How Fearless Ted Has Been Rewarded By President Bush !!!

<snip>

WASHINGTON, DC--Stating that he had "Completely forgotten about the other two architects of freedom and liberty, who also happen to rock like there's no tomorrow", President Bush awarded two additional Americans with the Medal of Freedom yesterday.

Rock sensation Ted Nugent and country heavyweight Charlie Daniels were both presented with the coveted Presidential Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House.

Ted Nugent has been a staple in the rock business as the consummate axe man and conservative activist. Bush recognized him for, "Seeing me through all of the tough decisions with tracks like 'Cum N Gitya Sum-O-This' and 'Wang Dang Sweet Poontang'. I listened to the Penetrator album almost as much my Full Bluntal Nugity disc when we were getting ready to head into Baghdad. What a patriot this guy is." Nugent has performed for Bush numerous times, in addition to headlining Republican fundraising dinners and midnight Glo-Bowl events for the Dawson County Republican Committee in Texas.

Nugent and Daniels both attended a pig roast with the Bush Family in the White House's Rose Garden after the medal ceremony.

Question... How does one roast one's self??? Was there a self-immolation on the WH Lawn???

2. at the rate he's going,
the Medal of Freedom will have about as much significance and worth as one of those plastic "World's Best Dad" or "World's Best Daughter" trophies you see in tourist shops.

4. It' s already come to that.

Thanks to Georgie, that medal has become rather meaningless.

He took the meaning out of it and awarded it to George Tenet and Ted Nugent.

6. A Medal of Freedom awarded to a guy who answered his nations call to arms.....
by walking around for a week shitting his pants and pissing down his leg.

Yup. He certainly is a hero.

11. he didn't really get the medal of freedom. The last link is a satirical article
to quote:

Daniels' involvement in the Iraq War was more strategic planning, and less guitar strumming, although Bush did say that he has long been influenced by the seminal Daniels hit, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Daniels has spent more time behind closed doors with the President, top advisor Karl Rove and National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice. Bush said of Daniels, "Charlie has long been a master of the country violin, but we had no idea he had such a handle on foreign policy and the Middle East. He's been an integral part of our braintrust, and will continue to be so during my second term. You can't find anyone who can segue from discussing the Fallujah invasion to busting out a ridiculously kicking version of 'The South's Gonna Do It Again'."

riiiiight ...

16. the story about dodging the draft is apparently true, though--like so many vocal supporters of *'s
war in iraq, ted didn't bother to serve the country when he had the chance.

17. I kinda figured that out
but after the medal going to Tenet (it went to Tenet, right?), it's kinda lost it's luster. Unless it's actually chocolate. Then it might be cool to get one.

7.  What was that story about Nugent on Bill Maher last night?

Something about Nugent raising a rifle and yelling obscenities about
Hillary and Obama at one of his concerts?

What the hell was that about?

Nugent is out of his damn mind.

Oh--My--Goodness!
The guy is certifiably insane.

Yes, the Secret Service should be notified
and Nugent belongs in a mental institution.

25. What about Ted becoming legal guardian of a 17 yr. old so he could keep , uh.....
"sleeping" with her

He had a relationship with a 17-year old Hawaiian girl when he was 30. He became her legal guardian in order to comply with laws regarding relationships with minors.

21. Not to disagree, but have you heard Journey To The Center Of The Mind?
That is the Amboy Dukes with our fascist bullyboy Nugent on guitar. I couldn't believe it when I found out. But then you don't have to be cool to be in a cool band, I guess.

19. This Dude is THAT BATSHIT Nuts...
He claims it's not drugs and that he doesn't drink...and I've met the dude...I believe him. He's just ruckin' futz!

That "Nuge" story has been around for ages and at one time he even bragged about it (when he was a fuckin' hippie) but he became "Jack the Bear"...Mr. Bow-Hunter and then "American Sportsman"...nothing worse than a certafied lunatic with a weapons fixation.

I'm not sure if its good or bad that his dangerous remarks haven't been played up...as I get the feeling it would just energize him to get even crazier. Maybe it's best he's left to shouting over tractor pulls to mostly drunk locals wanting to hear Stranglehold for the umpteenth time.

20. He's always been nuts. What's odd is that
according to this site: http://www.newsmeat.com/celebrity_political_donations/ he donated $1000 to a democrat and $500 to a republican in '92, but none since then. Guess he's all talk, or more likely just trying to get a little publicity...
