Hey, the surge is working! We're beating Al Queada!

It sure sounds that way on the evening news and on the radio. I keep hearing how we're beating Al Queada every time the networks do a story on "The Surge". It sounds great... of course, who wouldn't want to beat up all those nasty 9/11 causing Al Queada? Better to fight them over there than over here, right? And, even better news, many Iraqis are taking our side, fighting right along with us, totally sick and tired of what Al Queada is doing to their country.

So, is it just the Liberal in me that makes me skeptical of all this good news, or should we all be asking a few questions? As for myself, I just can't help wondering how all those Al Queada got into Iraq so easily, and how they all seemed to buy a house and start families once they got there? There are apparently whole neighborhoods of them that just came in. I would like to believe all is going well, but a little negative voice in my head keeps asking "You don't suppose they could actually be regular Iraqis and we're acting like the Bath Party, taking sides in a civil war do you?" I hope I am totally wrong.

Will someone please explain to me how all these Al Queada I keep hearing about entrenched themselves so wholly into Iraqi society. That way maybe I could stop being so skeptical and enjoy all the good news I'm hearing.
