My Neighbor Doesn't Vote, I Do
Edited on Sun Aug-26-07 07:00 AM by ThomWV
My neighbor doesn't vote, neither does his wife, either of his two grown daughters, or his son-in-law. They didn't vote and we got Bush. I vote as does my wife, son, and daughter-in-law. We did vote and still we got Bush.

My neighbor will tell you that voting doesn't make any difference, that they are all crooks and liars and he won't waste his time voting for any of them. I tell him that it does make a difference that we vote and the only way to improve things is to put capable people of good intention in office and then support an appropriate tax base to let them do the work we expect of them. But still, we got Bush.

One wonders which of us is right.

4. If they intended for Bush to be elected then they got what they wanted.
How many times has he complained about elected officials?

How many times has he complained about the roads, schools, insurance, his job, paying taxes, laws, police, other countries, the cost of gas, electricity, etc?

By not voting he is supporting the crooks he complains about. By not voting he doesn't want change. By not voting he is saying that everything is okay and the crooks are doing a fine job.
