Two Types of People
The Iain Levison Experience
Discussions of Work, Poverty, and Exploitation

I think the world is rapidly dividing between two types of people. Not Republicans and Democrats, or liberals and conservatives. Not the religious and the science-oriented. It is dividing between people who get it and people who don’t.

Ron Paul is a conservative republican, and he gets it. Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, supposedly liberal democrats, are clueless. Dennis Kucinich gets it. Mike Gravel, currently polling at zero percent, gets it. Ralph Nader has always gotten it, and America has been trained to hate him for it. George Bush and Osama bin Laden, the mentally troubled sons of billionaires, try to ensure that as few people get it as possible. Almost everything our president says now is just desperate rambling to try to stop his eroding base from getting an inkling of it.

Rest here

1. The unimaginable consequences are coming anyway..
It's too late to change the course upon which we are embarked.

2. Al Gore "gets it".
Read "The Assault On Reason" and you'll see exactly how much he "gets it".

yes- Kucinich gets it. Edwards is sounding more like he does daily. Clinton and Obama are saying nothing to lead me to believe they do. Paul and Nader merely vote splitters.

We The People are in deep shit. Unless Gore steps in, we're doomed.

3. That this guy thinks Ron Paul gets it...
shows that he himself doesn't get it. Ron Paul is a nutjob. There is nothing in Ron Paul's political philosophy that will ensure that we will treat nature and each other better. In fact, as a libertarian, his philosophy does just the opposite. He's a sexist, racist, homophobe who ascribes to a political philosophy that decries any sort of government regulation of anything. If that's "getting it" I think I'll take a pass.

4. Right on about Ron Paul--people are imparting qualities upon him
that JUST AREN'T THERE! If he didn't oppose the war, he'd be 100% nutjob, instead of just 90%, and nobody would pay any attention to him.

5. That's always been the case
That's always been the case that the world is broken down between.. people who get it and people who don’t.

The issue is that it changes from person to person, situation to situation, post to post. Most times, with each person thinking they are part of the get it crowd. :smoke:
