Stew Bedded Mick And Spiro

.... In his new, self-published memoir, "In My Rear View Mirror," veteran TV sports reporter Sal Marchiano writes that red-headed Eastern Airlines flight attendant Martha Haines bedded Mantle over an eight-year period in which she also carried on with Agnew during his White House years. ....

Marchiano, who now reports for the "CW11 News at Ten," recalls with some bitterness how he created the trademark "Let's get ready to rumble!" slogan of ring announcer Michael Buffer, who later asked Marchiano if he could "borrow" the phrase.

"He not only borrowed it, he trademarked it and has earned a considerable amount of money," the longtime sportscaster beefs. "Buffer . . . gave me credit in a Sports Illustrated profile, but nothing else. Not even a cheesy T-shirt he sells with 'Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!!' on the back."

Buffer told Page Six that while he still credits Marchiano, "Actually, 'The Greatest,' Muhammad Ali, was the primary originator . . . He said he was 'ready to rumble' in an interview while he was training for his first fight with Sonny Liston in 1964. Ali repeated the line many times through the years."

Somebody give Sal a t-shirt, and let's move on.
