I Am So God Dam Mad At Direct TV

There is no receivable broadcast TV where I live nor is there cable. Its a dish or nothing. We have Direct TV. At this moment the listing for the Pittsburgh Local area shows Countdown with Keith Olbermann to be on - but its not. There is some mindless football bullshit.

I tried to call Direct TV to raise holy hell, but all you can get to from their phone system is ways to give them more money. I have no number for the Pittsburg station but if I did there would be hell to pay.

People who watch "60 Minutes" know what you're going through. Every damned year it's the same thing, flip back and forth from crap on another station to see if those overpadded, lumpy legged idiots have retreated from the cow pasture.

20. Not surprising. . .

A football game begins at 5 pst and will run for three+ hours, so there's no other time for knbc to run local news. I suspect the east coast ran theirs earlier (5 or 6 local time), and so had available time for olbermann. Weird timing for nbc's premier daily news magazine -- wedged into dead time before a football game. And not surprising it's been preempted in various places, especially here on the West coast. Contractually, I'm sure the local news department is strapped against making modifications, and I can't imagine the local broadcasters would willfully step aside for a cable host to take what, for them, is a prime lead-in slot.

Have the New York NBC feed instead of local by virtue of being "grandfathered" into that service because we hooked up over 10 years ago and have the package that includes the networks (East and West) at an extra costa nd local service is so remote that reception by antenna is very bad.

My local NBC channel has Eagles pre-game on but the national channel has Countdown.

18. This is the first time I've heard of channel 382 being an NBC station.

I've only had DirectTV for a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to figure out how it works. After I read your note, I tried switching to channel 382 and saw "Countdown" for about one second, before a note came on telling me that station isn't part of my package. On weekdays I watch it on MSNBC (channel 356). But I checked that station and also channel 2 and Countdown isn't on either one of them. I'm on the West Coast. Do you know if it's going to be time-delayed and shown on either channel 2 or 356 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time?
