Please stop falling for the GOP spin re: the Florida Primaries |
The GOP-controlled Florida legislature passed the primary date knowing full well what the primary rules were. It is a great way to split the democrats even more. Kkkkkarl has struck again.

2. It wasn't run by Rove. But it was run by a bunch of rabid GOPers |
who hate hate hate Dems. Rabid GOPers who will do everything to win which includes sneaky tricks such as putting the Florida primary outside of Dem rules.

The spin we need to use is that the GOP Controlled Florida legislature refuses to have their state's democratic votes counted.

4. Well, it seemed to be in 2000, but that isn't the point |
The point is that this is a GOP created problem, and the spin is blaming the democrats.

6. Nope, the state party did not tell the truth. |
They could have moved to Feb. 5 and all would have counted.

5. The Democrats did not have to more to Jan. 29. If they stayed at Feb. 5... |
All delegates would have counted. Dean, Adam Smith, and blaming Republicans http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/1409I am tired of the Dems here blaming Republicans when they worked with them on the bill.

7. The Florida Democrats still have the option of keeping their primary on Feb. 5? |
The new law is not mandatory?

8. Perhaps the GOP changed the dates knowing that Dems would attack -- each other. |
If that was their motivation, once again they are right. Even MSM (Face the Nation) thinks that the DNC went overboard, has little power to stop the primary date and will back off if the Florida Dems decide to go with the new date; otherwise, the Florida Dems must hold a "privatized" primary to meet some February "window." In any event, no Democratic presidential candidate will ignore Florida and will campaign there vigorously.
If the DNC went after the GOP with as much determination and severity as it does the 4th largest state's party structure, then we could rest comfortably about the prospects in '08. But they are predictable to a fault.
