The drought we call America. Anyone got a match, cause I need the fire dept here asap? (A rant)

[The Straight Story]

The fire departments here in So. Cal have been busy, second largest fire in state history.

And they came, so many of them. Firemen and women. Risking their lives not only to save the lives of others, but he property and memories people have spent their lives building.

They were willing to fight hard fights, stand in the heat, and fight for people they have never met. Sweating, collapsing from the heat, faced with a sudden change in wind that could trap them in flames.

And they stood.

The drought here in America is more severe than that which we have now in California.

And somewhere there is a match that will ignite it all and our heroes will come to our aid to stomp out the flames of that drought.

They will clear the brush and dead trees. They will build fire lines. They will stand up for the people and do the job they were hired to do.

No matter what their name is, or the letter after said name. What matters is, when there is a fire - you put it out and you don't shy away from it - because when you do it just grows and grows.

There is no rain in our forecast, no reprieve. So burn it will. I just hope we have the right people to put it out. I hope they can even recognize a fire....

Sadly, I think it will just burn - and the people with the means to stop it, the folks with the water, will quietly shut the fire alarms off and go back to sleep.
