Why wasn't Bush at his side?
Gonzo's resignation was delivered Friday in Crawford. Gonzo announces it with NOBODY standing at his side...NOBODY. Bush was there with Rove. Gonzo is supposed to be a friend. Yet, Bush is coming out LATER after Gonzo annouces it in WASHINGTON.

I find that interesting.

19. "You're dead to me"
So, this sounds like Gonzo's taking a powder himself despite Junior's wishes.

It's probably like the Rumsfeld scenario, where he tried resigning several times before Little Boots finally accepted.

21. Maybe Bush came from Kennebunkport?
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 11:18 AM by DemReadingDU
I forget where Bush came from on Monday 8/13/07, but I do remember Bush came back to DC to stand with Rove while Rove gave his farewell speech.

Maybe Bush was in Kennebunkport?

8/9/07 Bush left for a weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine, and his family's summer compound, Walker's Point. On Monday, he heads to his Crawford retreat

So why wouldn't Bush stand with Gonzales? Very odd indeed.

a canary. After all, he helped bury the bodies, and knows where they are.

20. ok a little here..cspan said he may be the one nominated as well..
Paul Clement
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Drew Clement (born June, 1966) is the current Solicitor General of the United States. He was nominated by President George W. Bush on March 14, 2005, confirmed by the United States Senate on June 8, 2005, and took the oath of office on June 13, 2005. Clement replaced Theodore Olson. On August 27, 2007, Clement was named as acting Attorney General of the United States upon the resignation of Alberto Gonzales, effective September 17, 2007. <1> As the number-four official in the United States Department of Justice, Clement will serve as acting AG due to the lack of permanent occupants in the offices of the United States Deputy Attorney General and the United States Associate Attorney General.

18. Political strategery for Bush legacy
Wouldn't want those cameras capturing crocodile tears. *sniff* :sarcasm:

The whole thing scares me because desperate people are dangerous. Take Rove (or leave him as the case may be LOL!)...his leaving is seen as some sort of 'he's so yesterday's news and no longer in the White House' to many people. For me, it means he can crawl back in the sewers without having to worry about Congressional oversight toward his wetdream of a permanent Con majority. Out of sight, out of mind, but certainly not out of power.

Gonzo? Well, he's this week's "victim of a Democrat conspiracy for partisan political theatre." Now, when Democrats continue to seek the truth, I can already hear the WH sycophants..."He's gone! There's no there there. Taxpayer money being wasted on endless hours of a political witch hunt with no end in sight."

So, unless and until the MSM starts publicizing some of those Xmillion e-mails that went through the RNC servers, and Congress begins Impeachment proceedings (neither of which is it looking like is going to happen), the hits will just keep on coming. And in the end, WE are the real losers from this game they play. :(
