Why do you suppose this bombshell was dropped today of all days? Maybe because the news of Gonzo's resignation was the GOP-owned media's best hope for burying the sleazy news of another perverted Republican? Or am I just too cynical?

2. How in the world does a US Senator spend 10 days in jail and
it's not plastered all over the news? Wasn't Vitter in the news at the same time?

8. Yes. I just saw the Roll Call report. I've amended the OP to say...
"...sentenced to" instead of "served."

9. HOWEVER...the fact that he pled GUILTY, the fact that he paid $500,
and the fact that he has ONE YEAR PROBATION...
WHY THE FUCK DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO GET THIS STORY OUT?

i can just imagine what else these motherfuckers are doing that has never been made public--even though it's in the "public record"

13. I found a blog which states they knew Craig was gay

This is tongue in cheek entry about whether Craig would run for office, but also referring to his sexual orientation

Will Sen. Craig run or not? Popkey doesn’t know either

Filed under: Ethics, Outing, Politics, Republican, Neo-cons — H. Lukas Green August 12, 2007 @ 8:28 am (Views: 36)

I woke up this morning to notice that Dan Popkey, crack investigative reporter for the Idaho Statesman, wrote an updated article on the political fate of Sen. Larry Craig.

I almost expected to find out the conclusion to Popkey’s highly anticipated special assignment on Sen. Craig.

Popkey ended up repeating what everyone else knows about Craig's decision to seek re-election, which is nothing.

While most political candidates have come Out and announced their intentions, Craig keeps his political ambitions Closeted.

Where is the Dan Popkey who spoke to PrideDEPOT.com back on March 6? We miss that hard-hitting journalist who admitted that he hunkered down at a Washington DC gay bar occasionally flashing photos of Craig to bar patrons in an attempt to find someone who recognized the Senator.

Reporting on Craig's purposeful indecision isn't news.

14. A quick glance around "the Google" seems to indicate that it's an open secret, essentially.

15. I think you've got it exactly right.
Let's hope it doesn't get thoroughly buried. Just another one on the list...
