Gonzo the Innocent.....
With today's little speech - Bush has officially created a martyr. All weep for Gonzo the Innocent.

With little regrets, Gonzo has submitted to the cries of his critics and humbly resigns. He has endured the slings of mud. He has undergone questioning not seen since the days of the inquisition.

The victim - yes A VICTIM - the innocent victim of a witch-hunt so vile, so evil that Gonzo was unable to perform his duties as Attorney General.

It is not Gonzo's fault he can't recall. A faulty memory is not a crime. Gonzo placed his salvation in jeopardy by selflessly lying and misleading to protect the secrets of others.

Let us not rejoice in his exit from the white house cabinet. This man has placed loyalty to friends above the his job and his country. And rather than face his responsibilities, acknowledge accountability - he will take his tattered reputation and go home.

Gonzo the Good. Gonzo the Innocent. Gonzo the Martyr.

the preceding was dripping in :sarcasm:

3. LOL when hasn't he sounded like an inept incompetent moron?
I noticed that about him during the 2000 presidential debates. :)

When Gonez (as in 'Gone is he') went to Ashcroft in the hospital the naive and innocent idiot was following orders to this nutty affair. Rove, Cheney or whomever calls the shots knew that the Spy Program was illegal...but, but, but they had an out if Ashcroft signed off on it and the scam was exposed: Ashcroft was still under the influence of the sedatives and pain killers but boldly signed to protect America from his sick bed. Thus no one was accountable for its illegality.
