Here's Bush Right After the Officer Was Killed Escorting Him to the Airport ---pix--->>>
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 08:27 PM by Stephanie

Here's George right after the 40 year old motorcycle cop was killed in the motorcade escorting Bush to the airport
after the Pete Domenici fundraiser so he could fly to Washington for the Dave Reichert fundraiser.

No biggie.

limousine at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Seatac, Wash., on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007.

17. He saw the aftermath of the crash

Medics try to save Germaine Casey, 40, after his motorcycle accident in Albuquerque.

The motorcycle was near the front of the motorcade, and the president saw the wreck as he drove past on the way to the airport, said Rio Rancho Police Department spokesman Officer John Francis.

-----

Photographers and reporters in the presidential motorcade said the officer's motorcycle appeared to be nearly destroyed, and the officer was on the ground, being helped by an emergency medical technician.

-----

Bush issued a statement saying he was saddened by Casey's death and extraordinarily grateful for his protection.

"It is a high calling to choose to serve and protect your fellow citizens, and I will always be indebted to Officer Casey's service," the president said, adding that the officer's wife and two teenage children were in his thoughts and prayers.

He ought to stick to clearing brush in Crawford. Anything beyond that is just over his head.

36. Here is a picture of the Officer. Husband, Father of two..

Who leaves behind a family. Very sad.

FROM the KOAT News site http://www.koat.com/news/13986586/detail.html#

Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety spokesman John Francis has identified the officer as 40-year-old Germaine Casey. Casey was with the University of New Mexico police department for one year and with the Rio Rancho police force for two years. Francis said Casey had received special training in riding in motorcades and had previously escorted Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney on separate occasions.

Casey was at the front of the motorcade on Yale Boulevard near the airport, when he went off the road and hit a tree at approximatley 1:00 p.m. According to Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz, President Bush saw the accident as he passed by and called John Francis to offer his condolences.

Casey was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital and died on arrival.

"It means a lot for the president of the U.S. to take time out of his busy schedule and call us to express his deepest sympathy," Francis said. "We are certainly in a time of sorrow right now for our fallen officer, this is our first officer that we have lost in the line of duty".

Francis said Bush will also be calling Casey's family Monday evening. Casey had a wife and two children.

53. i am using GIS --
well, trying... ;-)

I'm using ArcGIS 9.2 right now. I've done some basic analyses where i look at the different landcover types within certain distances of my ponds -- within 300m, 1000m, etc. Then seeing if that is related to how genetically isolated the populations are (it is, as you'd expect!). Right now i'm running "least-cost" models, which basically look at how hard it is to get from one pond to another, taking into account what the animal has to traverse -- roads are more "expensive" to than forest, etc.

It's very neat stuff, but i'm teaching myself, so it's slow going!

44. He's a Socoipath. He's a classic example of a Sociopath:

Profile of the Sociopath

* Glibness and Superficial Charm

* Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

* Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

* Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

* Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

* Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

* Incapacity for Love

* Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

* Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

* Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

* Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

* Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

* Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

* Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

* Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Other Related Qualities:

1. Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them
2. Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them
3. Authoritarian
4. Secretive
5. Paranoid
6. Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired
7. Conventional appearance
8. Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)
9. Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim's life
10. Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim's affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)
11. Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim
12. Incapable of real human attachment to another
13. Unable to feel remorse or guilt
14. Extreme narcissism and grandiose
15. May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

(The above traits are based on the psychopathy checklists of H. Cleckley and R. Hare.)

plays a goddamn guitar when New Orleans is under water and now this.

A true psychopath.

Check this out:

The prototypical psychopath has deficits or deviances in several areas: interpersonal relationships, emotion, and self-control. Psychopaths lack a sense of guilt or remorse for any harm they may have caused others, instead rationalizing the behavior, blaming someone else, or denying it outright. Psychopaths also lack empathy towards others in general, resulting in tactlessness, insensitivity, and contemptuousness. All of this belies their tendency to make a good, likable first impression. Psychopaths have a superficial charm about them, enabled by their low self-consciousness, a willingness to say anything without concern for accuracy or truth. This extends into their pathological lying and willingness to con and manipulate others for personal gain or amusement. The prototypical psychopath's emotions are described as a shallow affect, meaning their overall way of relating is characterized by mere displays of friendliness and other emotion for personal gain; the displayed emotion need not correlate with felt emotion, in other words. Shallow affect also describes the psychopath's tendency for genuine emotion to be short lived and egocentric with an overall cold demeanor. Their behavior impulsive and irresponsible, often failing to keep a job or defaulting on debts.<25>

Since psychopaths cause harm through their actions, it is assumed that they are not emotionally attached to the people they harm; however, according to the PCL-R Checklist, psychopaths are also careless in the way they treat themselves. They frequently fail to alter their behavior in a way that would prevent them from enduring future discomfort. Dr. Joseph Newman contends that the behavior displayed by psychopaths is the result of "an inability to process contextual cues." <26>

BINGO on that!

55. Let me offer a defense of Bush's behavior in that photo
"You can't make an omelet without breaking a few lives."

Hmmm, a little glib. Here: let's try this:

"We honor the dead by carrying on. If we fail to smile at the news of what's-his-face's death, it's like giving aid and comfort to the street hazards that took his life and hate our freedom."

Nah, too long for a sound bite. Doubt Bush could memorize that many words. A revision:

"He gave his life so that I could wave to the crowd my staff assembled here for me to wave at. Freedom's on the roll."

Ah, screw it. Let's just blame the traffic accident on Clinton's penis.
