Two Years Ago
We were preparing to have our butts kicked.

Katrina looming offshore. Below is probably one of the last pictures taken of the Biloxi Edgewater Mall area before the storm.

Those little boarded up windows didn't help Wendy much. It was all gone 24 hours later.

In the distance, you can see the Presidents Casino and Treasure Bay (the one that looked like a pirate ship). Twenty four hours later, both had moved a quarter mile onshore.

Seems like yesterday.

1. I Feel Sick - And Sad
It hit me in a huge wave (pardon the pun) when I saw the before pictures and imagined (and remembered) the after.

I hope you and your loved ones have recovered and your lives have resumed some sort of normalcy.

3. We're okay
Struggling with the economy. Was about ready to pack it up and move out last week, but this week has improved.

Today is stormy and fitting for the memory of Katrina.

2. I lived in Gulfport for a time when we were stationed at Keesler--
your photos take me back. I remember that beach and those casinos. Hope things are getting back to normal for everyone there.

4. Some people are doing better than others
I guess a lot depends on what you had and what you lost. I didn't lose much, but the experience was one I'll never forget.
