News item: this Sunday, in Niterói, a city neighboring Rio, a gay couple (on their way to a gay pride parade) was badly beaten by four savages that jumped from a car and, while beating them, screamed: "Niterói is no place for fags!" Both victims had broken bones and required surgery.

The newspaper site has a comments area. Most were supportive of the victims, but there were gems such as these (in the translation, much of the Brazilian version of "moran spelling" is lost):
