Nothing in that Constitution you're holding Rep Conyers, prevents "post-presidential ..."
... impeachment. Same for "post-vice presidential" impeachment.

Among the important aspects of pursuing impeachment is preventing Bush, Cheney, Rice, Gonezo, and the others that should be impeached from ever holding future federal office.

And, you can bring them 'before the bar' in the House, immediately, by filing INHERENT CONTEMPT charges against each of them, as can any ONE of your colleagues in the Senate, and try their sorry assess for all the lies they've told in both Chambers as well as, and even more importantly for, ALL THE CRIMES THEY HAVE COMMITTED.

Stop calculating, Rep Conyers, and start prosecuting.

You are sworn to protect the Constitution of the United States of America, Rep Conyers, not to do arithmetic.

Thank you,
Bob

1. Isn't the point of impeachment to remove someone from office?
Under US law, the president not vulnerable to criminal charges while he is office.

3. I believe that's "contempt of Congress"
which is different than a misdemeanor or felony.

2. Conyers and his buds in the House really do need to get the lead out.
With everything that's going on, impeachment needs to be on the tip of everyone's tongue.

With Rove leaving, and now Gonzo, you have to wonder what's up. I don't think anyone truly believes that they suddenly cherish their families so much they have to spend more time with them. Although sometimes when trouble is about to strike, people like to be closer to those they know they can trust.

I just don't want the Dems to allow the GOP to put them in the position of finger pointing, saying, "The Democrat (sic) Party didn't do anything the last two years, they are not moving this country forward..."

4. If there is any impeachment
Edited on Tue Aug-28-07 01:09 PM by Gman
it should be of lower level officials that have been confirmed previously by the Senate. Those are the people that need to be impeached and prohibited from holding any high position again. That's the lesson we should have learned in Watergate and in Iran-Contra. We didn't impeach any of the culprits then and now we have them in the highest positions 20 and 30 years later. These people today will be back for many years to come.

5. If there is any impeachment it should be af all the criminals involved.
In addition to keeping the underlings from infecting future governments we need to roll back the powers and precedents that aWoL and Darth Cheney have set.
