Republicans, sex and hypocrisy. Question the "self-righteous."
Edited on Tue Aug-28-07 07:20 PM by Cyrano
I couldn't care less if Senator Craig was looking for sex in a toilet, or getting it on with a goat. The issue here, as in all cases in which Republicans have been caught in compromising positions, is hypocrisy.

For decades, we have heard "Family Values" coming from the mouths of people like Craig and far too many other Republicans to name here. And all of it is the bullshit we always suspected it was.

Whether it was Gingrich or Guiliani getting it on with future wives while still married to their present wives. Or whether it was Republican congressmen impeaching Bill Clinton for what so many of them were also doing, there's just so much hypocrisy you can take before you puke.

It's way past time to start ignoring Republican "virtue." No one on the face of this planet doesn't have something they wouldn't want to see plastered over the front page of a newspaper. Yet, Republicans have spent decades throwing (true or untrue) crap at Dems, knowing some of it would stick whether true or not.

The next time you hear a Republican screeching about gay marriage, or gay partnership rights, ask yourself why they are so adamant on the issue. The saying used to be, "Question Authority." Today, the saying should be "Question the self-righteous."

(On edit: You've just gotta' love the Craig mug shot with the Amerian flag lapel pin.)

1. Question everything. Without ending up cynical or paranoid.

2. true dat
I just viewed the video where, Craig, is berating President Clinton as a 'nasty, naughty, bad, bad, boy'. He could get it on with three goats, and two sheep, and a dog, if he had the, true personal integrity, to have the type of sanctimonious condemnation with which he looks down his nose at gay folks and adulterers. He is vehemently denying being homosexual. The Repricklickins, lie to the bitter end. This is NOT the first accusation of misconduct, although he was a single man, back in 1982.
