Many MEN Like Sex As A Sport

Many straight and gay men can (generalizing here) like sex as a pure sport. Many straight women and lesbians prefer sex as intimacy (generalizing again).

If there were tons of women running around cruising bathrooms for men to have sex with them, TRUST ME, there would be tons of straight guys constantly having sex in bathroom stalls.

It's far more an issue of how men look at sex vs how women look at sex, than it is a gay/straight one.

It's just for gay guys, the object of their sexual desire is OTHER gay guys, some of whom are just as randy and, um, up for sport as they are.

Disclaimer: I'm generalizing, of course, but the point is that gay guys aren't more promiscuous than others, as the religious right would have you believe. MEN, both straight and gay, are more promiscuous than WOMEN.

But those who thought they were monitored by a lie detector reported an average of 4.4 sexual partners. The study showed more differences between men and women in sexual attitudes than in sexual behavior. One reason that the study didn’t show more differences in behavior seems to be because the sex differences the researchers sought to explain aren’t particularly strong anymore.

but the whole thing plays into the religious rightwing's gay stereotype, which is profoundly wrong. I've been monogamous with my partner for ten years. Many of the gay couples we know are in the same situation. Many of the gay couples we know have kids and are the most boring families you'd ever want to meet. But, you see, we aren't the exciting, lurid story. So we don't make the news. Republican closet cases do.
