Maybe people will settle for that under Bush, but I'm thoroughly convinced that a Democratic President appointing Fitzgerald would be subject to vicious, venomous outrage that a progressive Democrat thoroughly committed to progressive values through his office wouldn't be appointed.
People can try to tell me I'm wrong but, I don't think so.

6. And that's exactly why he will not be chosen. |
|
The only requirement for any Bush cabinet position is blind, sycophantic allegiance to Il Douche. A loyal Bushie will be appointed -- count on it.

Bush wouldn't appoint someone like Patrick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald has too much integrity.

17. The big question is: will the Democrats stand up to BushCorp or knuckle under |
|
and do whatever BushCorp wants one more time? I remember when Herr Gonzales was confirmed by the Senate, one of my Senators responded to my rants about never never put a war criminal in as AG, I was told that the President should be able to pick his cabinet. Bullshit, Gonzales is a war criminal and should never have been confirmed. The spineless Democrats should have done everything in their power to resist his appointment. In stead the Country pays the price, Democracy pays the price. So far BushCorp has gotten almost every single thing they wanted with very little resistance from the Democrats. And pleeeeez don't talk to me about investigations. Investigations are a f******** waste of time unless you get convictions.

15. I've dreamt about this for a long time |
|
Pat Fitzgerald would be a great AG. It will never happen in this administration...he's too competent, too honest, too willing to look the "Bushies" in the eye and say "no."
I agree with the Lieberman thing. Wouldn't surprise me at all, except that Joe, as always looking out for himself, wouldn't take it at this point. When Bush was at his height in the polls, he would have jumped at it. Too late now, for both Joe and George.
