Why Does Blackwater (A Security Company) Need To Buy Bombers???
Blackwater Buys Brazilian Bombers

Stratgey Page
August 27, 2007

Security company Blackwater U.S.A. is buying Super Tucano light combat aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. These five ton, single engine, single seat aircraft are built for pilot training, but also perform quite well for counter-insurgency work. The Super Tucano is basically a prop driven trainer that is equipped for combat missions. The aircraft can carry up to 1.5 tons of weapons, including 12.7mm machine-guns, bombs and missiles. The aircraft cruises at about 500 kilometers an hour and can stay in the air for about 6.5 hours per sortie.

One of the options is a FLIR (infrared radar that produces a photo realistic video image in any weather) and a fire control system for bombing. Colombia is using the Super Tucanos for counter-insurgency work (there are over 20,000 armed rebels and drug gang gunmen in the country). The aircraft is also used for border patrol. The U.S. Air Force is watching that quite closely. The Super Tucano costs $9 million each, and come in one or two seat versions. The bubble canopy provides excellent visibility. This, coupled with its slow speed (versus jets), makes it an excellent ground attack aircraft.

Blackwater already has a force of armed helicopters in Iraq, and apparently wants something a little faster, and more heavily armed, to fulfill its security contracts overseas. Initially, Blackwater is getting one two-seater, for pilot training in the United States.

2. Because blackwater is a private army.
They are just barely gearing up to continue their job of protecting the American citizen.

:sarcasm:

3. I watched a very interesting show on History Channel last night...
... about mercs in Iraq. The vast majority of these guys seemed to be Brits - former Special Ops types. Very scary dudes. When they went out on a mission (usually to ferry important people around) they were pretty much armies of one. This one guy they followed was decked out like the Terminator. Grenades, 40 ammo clips, you name it.

They really seem to be a very professional army. Without any restrictions on what they do.

They covered Blackwater, Heart, and a few others.

13. Well yeah....
"Blackwater USA was co-founded by former Navy Seal Erik Prince, a "billionaire right-wing fundamentalist Christian from a powerful Michigan Republican family."

So in the end, they're gonna force us all into Fundamentalillness? I don't think so....

10. Were they British or South African?
I understand South Africa has a long history of exporting mercenaries.

I bet they were South African.

22. Great Brittain used mercenaries (the Hessians) against the Americans
in our revolutionary war.

Interesting parallel. When superpowers start outsourcing their military, can permanent decline be far behind?

Blackwater, along with all the other militias, will be well-equipped to handle the sickly U.S. Military.

14. And what are they gonna do....
...with those 90 out of 100 Americans that own guns? Yeah I've got one. And I'm old enough and been through enough hard times to be satisfied to take just one asshole with me if I'm forced to. So, mathematically, they're screwed....

12. They need them so they can bid on contract bombing jobs.
Ya just gotta know Bush is planning on outsourcing our nuclear strike capability, not to mention all those little conventional bunker-busting jobs that need doing here and there.

20. When Martial Law is declared and all our Military is in Iraq, Blackwater can step up to the plate.
No oath to the Constitution has been taken by any Blackwater murderer. They have no qualms about killing in cold blood and will do whatever Dear Leader tells them to do. It's why they exist! They will get to play army FOR REAL!

The Military who has taken an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC (the psycho and Dickhead), will be OUT OF THE COUNTRY. How's that for a plan?
