So what happens if Bush bombs Iran?
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 07:08 AM by youthere
It would appear Bush is now tiring of THIS war...so he's preparing to start a new one. Christ almighty he reminds me of a kid at Christmas with too many toys.
What do you predict the fallout to be? My husband believes any aggression toward Iran will be the first step to another world war. What do you think?

Edit: because a worl war doesn't make any sense.

3. I think bush needs a new place to "spread peace and dumbocracy", he also needs
bright shiny eplosions, and shock-n-awe to distract the discontented masses back into their "patriotic" fever.... back to where he is a WAR PREZ who can do no wrong, and it's unpatriotic to dissent or disagree with him.

I really fear that bombing Iran "to protect our troops in harms way" and "to defend the struggling purple fingered democracy in Iraq" is looming very close on the horizon now....

and I fear that the Dems in Congress will do nothing if he bombs Iran.....

6. I think the geostrategy of controlling central Asia
and all the pipelines involved will continue and any path to get to this goal will eventually be taken. Whether we bomb Iran (who we worked in conjuction with in attacking the Taliban who we initially backed to gain control of Afghanistan until they wanted $100 million oil lease from UNOCOL) will be determined if anything is worked out that avoids war and we still get control.

12. One thing that would happen for sure
The impeachment movement would completely end. No one would start impeachment procedings while we would be in the middle of a major World War.

And yes, I feel a draft . . .

14. The equation.
Death = Profits

This is the equation whose result is directly associated with the established policy of the criminals in the White House.

Preemptive killing is a piece of this policy. Insurance companies profiting because they do not cover certain services that cause people to die is a piece of this policy. Environmental destruction resulting in death is a piece of this policy. :dem:

15. Bush warns of 'Holocaust' if Iran gets nukes

"Iran is sending arms to the Taliban in Afghanistan to be used to attack American and NATO troops," Bush said. "Iran has arrested visiting American scholars who have committed no crimes and impose no threat to their regime. And Iran's active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust. Iran's actions threaten the security of nations everywhere."

19. Most of the terrorist organizations call Iran "Shia dogs".
The jury is still out on what they will do. They don't want Iran possibly upsetting world oil prices either. Most were initially set up by Saudi Arabia and Pakistan with initially US and British help.

The Iranians will block the Strait of Hormuz and probably take out at least one US aircraft carrier.

20. I'm not a professional prognosticator
but I believe one of the immediate consquences from * bombing Iran could be the loss of an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. Iran has Sunburn missiles, which are capable of distinguishing a carrier from its escort ships.

This would constitute a horrendous loss for US forces - and not only in terms of human life or materiel. * would see it as a huge embarrassment and could conceivably retaliate with nuclear weapons. In that event, the US would become even more of a pariah nation than * has achieved thus far. At that point, it's not out of the question for Russia and/or China to become involved in a major way.

I'm just shooting from the hip - and maybe this worst-case scenario is well over-the-top - but I don't foresee anything good emerging from a bombing campaign on Iran.

If bu$h is crazy enough to attack Iran, things will get really bad here in the US as China devalues the dollar and brings our economy to a standstill.

29. Any coverage of it will be obscured by the next season,
of American fucking Idol. Business as usual. Impeachment OFF the table, Pelosi blabbering like an idiot. More thumbs jammed up asses, while the other thumbs are busily crafting strongly worded letters. Nothing short of a fucking revolution is going to change our path now, but they know we won't do that. We're to deep in debt and spineless.
