My avatar today is in tribute to the inimitable, unforgettable Buster Keaton, whose films will be featured all day tomorrow on TCM. Eighteen of his films, from his celluloid start with Fatty Arbuckle to his Technicolor twilight with Frankie and Annette, will be shown on this schedule. Keaton's greatest silent classics like The General will air during primetime. Watch, laugh, enjoy!

26. I have some other pix

that I tried to turn into a square, but they lost too much...and since avatars are so small, it's hard to have a lot going on in one of them. I'll send along a few more things if Skinner is okay with it. in the meantime, here are some images to enjoy.

the decca title is "cafe mozart waltz." I found that one somewhere...don't know where. I took the picture of the east german graffiti.

"sold his soul to the devil", he did. ;) The character of "Tommy Johnson" in the movie, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou"? is loosely based on Robert's miraculous "transformation" into a top-notch Bluesman after reportedly selling his soul to the devil for the ability to play the guitar better than anyone else. A jealous husband did him in (poisoned him), in the prime of his life. :cry:

It's too bad that there aren't more of his original recordings available. I have every one that is. He's my avatar from now on! :yourock:

49. If I ever need to have a good cry

(it's hard for me to cry) I can put on some Robert Johnson and just be sobbing in moments.

I also listen to him while not in the throes of sorrow and his voice doesn't make me cry then.

But if I NEED to cry? RJ always works.

I'm on stupid dialup so all the avatars didn't load when I tried to change. But antigone382 is going to help me with a cool new BH avatar soon. Looks like RJ will be around :)
