Pols to Bush: Don't pick a pal for attorney general

WASHINGTON - President Bush's next pick for attorney general will be speedily confirmed if the nominee is seen as a respected caretaker for the Justice Department and not a political crony, experts said yesterday.

...

"No matter who they pick, Schumer's going to rip them to shreds," said a a top Bush ally in the Senate.

1. "No matter who they pick, Schumer's going to rip them to shreds..."
And it's about time, too.

Bush has been given one pass after another, one benefit of the doubt over and over, and the Dems have been keeping their powder dry for...WHAT?

They need to absolutely shred any nominee that isn't 100% without a question appropriate for the job. No more buds, cronys, no more people who testify one thing, and do another.

Gonzo lied during his process, and look at what happened. Anything Bush does right now needs to be scrutinized once, twice, and then again just to make sure. Bush has a track record that warrants these additional steps.

2. and they damn well better rip them a new orifice
Time to make up for all the passes they've issued to the WH --

Background checks, political affiliations - even close personal friends of ANYONE in the WH should be questioned. If they stole cookies during recess in the 2nd grade -- bring it up. Do your job Senators!
