The wisdom of Ronald Reagan
A quote from Ronald Reagan...

"A moment I've been dreading. George brought his ne're-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work."

-- Ronald Reagan in his recently published diaries,
May 17, 1986.

1. I don't know. I don't think of Reagan as being able to form sentences and stuff.
Could he have a staff member write his diary?

2. That's overly harsh
I think it's possible to look at Reagan's flawed positions and ethical lapses without having to pretend he was awful at everything.

I thought I was being polite.
The filter of time has been too kind to him. He was as bad as Bush--worse in many ways. And he was known for being not very bright. I imagine in twenty-five years people will look back on Bush as not so bad, too.

3. The Wisdom of Ronald Reagan?
Isn't that something akin to "The Pacifism of Dick Cheney?"
