1. Craig tried to cover it up by not telling anyone, not hiring a lawyer and
communicating by phone and mail with the police department. The police report did not mention that Craig was an elected official.

He didn't do a very good job of covering up the arrest. The truth eventually came out on Monday after the Idaho Statesman newspaper followed up on an anonymous tip.

2. The police report that I read did say that Craig is the U.S. Senator from Idaho
I don't believe that Craig told nobody. What senator doesn't have at least one highly-trusted attorney on retainer?

8. It wasn't on the police blotter, though.
I've learned that reporters usually just scan the police blotters. They won't request the actual report unless they see something interesting. If Craig's name didn't ring a bell to the reporter checking that day's blotter, they'd have no reason to pull the report.

It's possible that this really slipped through the cracks, but I don't believe that Craig didn't at least discuss this with his attorney.

10. I had no idea who Craig was before this story broke. I think he's lying about the lawyer.
Maybe what I read about his position not being mentioned was referencing the blotter.

Eventually, his actions were bound to become public. He's been trying to hide this for all of his adult life.

12. Yes, I think we were both right.
I wonder how many other Republican sleaze bags are out there hiding in plain sight?

9. At the news conference, he said he didn't speak with a lawyer.
He could be lying though.

3. The reporter said the record was buried
Sort of hidden in plain sight. I think Craig had a little help.

7. Maybe so. The police may have wanted to avoid unwanted publicity
about the airport bathroom problem. Who knows though.

13. Well, the question of who leaked it is kind of interesting.
I wonder if Craig knows or suspects who leaked it?
