A BRITISH artist sparked an outcry last night after unveiling a portrait of US President George Bush made from PORN magazines.

Jonathan Yeo, 36, cut up more than 100 top-shelf publications for the piece.

He decided to do it after curators at the Bush Library in America backed out of a commission for him to do a proper portrait.


“This will cause outrage in America. Some people will think it’s funny — but personally I think it is a cheap stunt.”

Since when did the image of the US president become sacrosanct? I seem to recall quite graphic pictures of Clinton and Gore (depicting them in S&M gear, etc.) being made into greeting cards and don't recall hearing any moral outrage from the GOP about that.

"Top-shelf" meaning excellent, but also describing the location on the magazine rack, above the reach of children.

I know The Sun means both because as an exchange student I used to deliver it, and believe me, as a fourteen-year old American kid I never once missed page 3.
