Arrest warrants allegedly issued in Rove mooning incident
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 07:28 PM by Truth2Tell
Backstory From Wonkette yesterday:

Back in April, Karl Rove spoke at American University and some hippies yelled at him and some of them even mooned him. This was one of the millions of goofy protests college students engage in across the country when they’re not too high to leave their dorm rooms, and it happened months ago, so everyone had forgotten about it. Except the Secret Service!

From Culture Warrior Today:

When Karl Rove spoke on AU’s campus at an April drool-fest organized by the College Republicans, he was met by a handful of angry students baring their asses and laying in front of his car. Most of the kids were dragged off by campus security and were mandated 40 hours of community service by the University.

“When I got the JAMS thing, I thought that was ridiculous,” Joel Gardner, one of the mooners, said about the school’s disciplinary actions. “But now I’m like, ‘What the fuck?’”

On Friday, Gardner and the rest of the group were notified by AU’s Dean of Students that the Secret Service has issued warrants for their arrest. Details are scarce because nobody seems to know what the fuck is going on and we couldn’t get the Dean on the phone on a Sunday, but Gardner and presumably all the others are being charged with crossing a police line and disorderly conduct.

“I’m trying to decide whether Monday or Wednesday is a better day to turn myself in,” Gardner said. “I’m not doing it tomorrow. I guess it’ll be Wednesday.”

2. Nope -- this is his usual vindictive bullshit
Just watched a video called "Bush's Brain" and this sounds so much like the Rove they discussed. He's vindictive to the point of lunacy - keeping lists of names of people who have *crossed* him. Looking for opportunities to f*ck with people he didn't think were on *his* side.

He's probably spent his last few weeks planning out how to send the Secret Service and CIA out on missions of payback. Watch - bet a pattern starts showing up with this nonsense. Wonder if he got the names of people throwing rotten fruit at his car?

6. How about defunding the Secret Service budget for this petty personal bullshit
that has nothing to do with protecting the White House.

8. From the Secret Service Web site
Who is the Secret Service authorized to protect?

By law, the Secret Service is authorized to protect:

The president, the vice president, (or other individuals next in order of succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and vice president-elect

The immediate families of the above individuals

Former presidents, their spouses, except when the spouse re-marries

Children of former presidents until age 16

Visiting heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and official representatives of the United States performing special missions abroad

Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election

Other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President and

National Special Security Events, when designated as such by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security

http://www.treas.gov/usss/faq.shtml#faq2

Sooo, it would be interesting to know if * has atually signed an executive order designating Rove (or anyone else) as a protected indidvidual. If not, then maybe he owes the taxpayers some $$$$ :)
