When Congress comes back from vacation next week, chances are high that reporters will hang around the fifth floor of the marble-and-glass Hart Senate Office Building. No, they're not doing a stakeout for Sen. George Voinovich, whose office occupies Hart 524.
But what neighbors he has!
Across the atrium, in Hart 520, is the office of Larry "I have never been gay" Craig of Idaho, who has yet to satisfy those asking what he was doing in that airport bathroom in Minnesota. (To say nothing of the train station bathroom in Washington, D.C.)
Down the hall, in Hart 516, is Larry Vitter of Louisiana, who in July admitted "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number showed up on a list kept by the woman known as the D.C. Madam.
And steps away -- maybe five feet from Voinovich's office, in Hart 522 -- is Ted Stevens of Alaska, whose home was raided in July as part of a federal corruption investigation.
(more, don't miss the first comment)
