Nugent Column Disappears from my local paper

Last Sunday I asked for the help of my fellow DUers to get Ted's weekly column deleted from my local paper the Waco Tribune Herald.

Thanks in part to the response from all of you, the ugly face of Ted Nugent is no longer seen on the Waco Trib web page.

If it comes back I will let you know, but I just wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful outpouring of support.

2. I was channel surfing and heard Nugent's totally lame excuse for his comments:

He said it was because rock-and-roll is so over the top that people can and do say anything. He compared his comment to Mick Jagger riding a "40-foot phallus" and no one asked him to explain why.

Pretty damned lame.

4. I would call them

And tell them how much you appreciated them taking his column out of their paper. This would serve two purposes. One, it would let the paper know that its readership does not want to see his column and two, you could find out if the lack of Nugent was intentional or just a temporary thing.

10. Better double check with the paper

Maybe he's on vacation or something. Make sure he's really gone from your paper, because experience shows that there's very little a right wing nut can do that will get him or her permanently off the air or out of print. Hell, Hot Tub Tom DeLay was on the Today Show this morning. And while Matt Lauer may have actually challenged him on one or two points, the fact of the matter is that DeLay was still on the air.

in anyone's life? I saw him giggling with Sean Hannity the other night and was perplexed as to why he would ever be selected as a guest in the first place. Now I find out he has a newspaper column! I'm not sure if he was before my time or after my time, but I seem to have missed his glory days as a rock star. Is this the way washed-up has beens who can't get a reality show on the Outdoor Life network get attention now? If Bobby Sherman went on to a stage in a red-neck bar somewhere and threatened to kill some Democrats as well, would Fox News hire him as an analyst?
