Give me your predictions...
There are all sorts of rumors and near facts flying around this board and on the internets regarding dickhead chaney and to a lesser extent, moron* launching the no doubt ill fated attack on Iran.

According to recent rumor reports it could happen as soon as next week or sometime around sept 11th. God help us all.

If so, one month from now, via these rumors, the us and the world could be up to our armpits in shit.

So what is your prediction? What will happen if these fucking mad men carpet bomb Iran? How will the world react? What kind of effect will it have here in the U.S.?

Personally, I don't have the warm fuzzies. :scared:

Instead, as usual, they will stay home to freak around in their diapers and have kinky sex with strangers in bathrooms, smirking idiotically while they count up their Massive War Profits, while sending our sons and daughters off to war

3. Well I know that many say that this site is not reliable, but have...
a look at this...

"Russian bombers and submarines continue to make unpleasant surprises for NATO"

http://english.pravda.ru/russia/politics/30-08-2007/96504-russia_nato-0

If that isn't an indication of where Russia stands I don't know what is.

9. Plus, what alliances does Iran have lined up? I'm thinking the world won't
sit still for another "shock'n'awe."

4. We don't have the troops for it, so it'll be bombs if it happens.
And, while I know mine is the minority opinion here, I'm still not convinced it will happen (which is not to say that they wouldn't or couldn't, the bastards).

8. Worst case:
We 'shock and awe' Iran, taking out their nuclear facilities, air defense, communications, power grid, etc.

They respond by sinking half our ships in the Gulf with missiles, and sending a half million men across the border and destroy our forces in Iraq - even if they are on full alert, they are dispersed across the country and no more ready for this than our forces were ready for 10 divisions of Red Chinese to go into Korea in '52. Our only chance of stopping a massive force, including armored divisions, is with tactical nukes.

Once that happens, all bets are off.

11. I predict we will be shown to have listened to our own knees knocking
within the echo chamber more than we have applied critical thinking to sorting through the serial echo-like relays of rumors based on anonymous third party sources.

13. I hope you don't have to eat your words. But I fear without intense public pressure
on this regime, that won't be the case.

I think the 9/11/07 speech by Gen. Betray-us will give us a good clue if they're going to roll out the propaganda to gin up support for another war.

We're already in place.

and I don't expect to be eating crow salad with DYI verbal dressing.

Even if the Cheney administration attacks Iran, and, as the administration says, everything is on the table--I predict it will still be possible to show that "we" spent much more time repeating third hand anonymous rumors and worrying over third hand anonymous rumors than "we" spent thinking critically and carefully about the potential truth content of said rumors.

Many bloggers and journalists of great reknown have been declaring for years that the attack on Iran will happen in weeks or months. We repeat it faithfully, worry over it repeatedly, watch the timeframe come and go, and then quite willingly fall into repeating and worrying over the next rumor in the same uncritical way.

I appreciate that "we" can't do much other than respond to rumors, consequently the reactionary echo-like nature of things is something to be expected. But at least "we" could do it critically. At this point "we" mostly don't.

18. I'm afraid you're right. Saudi Arabia will buy whatever it
wants - including an attack on Iran. The gold standard of Saudi connections is that of the Bush family dynasty. And sadly, I know of two prominent Democratic politicians from a single state who have benefitted big time from their Saudi connections.

If they should decide to retaliate with attacks on the U.S., we're toast.

19. Neither Russia or China would attack us directly unless we were
stupid enough to use nukes. But you can bet there would be a flood of weapons and funds to the insurgencies in Afghanistan and Iraq, including effective ground to air missles to take down helicopters and or planes as they land/take off from US airfields.
