Over the past couple of years I have been involved in DD in a somewhat peripheral fashion with a couple of other women -- with my wife's consent, of course. The other women have been either married or involved in a long-term relationship, and interested in using DD as part of that. The men involved, however, were either unable or unwilling to enforce rules. In one case, the man was out-of-town, and thus unable to promptly deal with a problem; in another, the husband was willing to agree with DD as a concept, but wasn't willing to enforce it with a spanking hard enough for the wife to actually pay attention. My role has therefore been just that of disciplinarian/spanker. A significant part of this has been that I haven't been the one to set rules (though I've given advice about what I thought was realistic), nor have I been the one to determine whether there has been an infraction. Instead, the couple themselves decided that, and the woman simply has come to me (and my wife in one case) for spanking punishment when needed. I know that this type of arrangement is somewhat unusual, and has obvious disadvantages from the more typical DD, but it also has some advantages.

Finally, my route to finding DD came through a lifetime interest in spanking. When I first started seriously exploring 20 years ago, there was not nearly the kind of information available as there is today with the Internet. Instead, at best, there was the "spanking community", and even that was limited. Erotic, DD, and other spankings all tended to be lumped in together. I certainly didn't do a good job of distinguishing between them in my own life either. I knew that my sexuality was tied up with spanking, and I also knew there was some crossover beyond the bedroom, but I hadn't really figured out how it all worked. I'm sure that caused some errors along the way. I hope I've learned from my mistakes, and maybe knowing about my mistakes can help some others avoid similar mistakes.
