WHAT kind of crap is Thompson pulling? He said today he'll |
|
announce on Sept 6th??????
For God sake Fred! What is your problem? Is the water too hot? Or is it too cold?
Dragging it out like this is the wrong way to go IMO! I guess we'll see!

2. Fred thinks he'll be fresh for the voters |
|
He thinks they will be tiring of the present announced candidates.
My concern about Fred is that overturning Roe v Wade seems to be at the top of list of to-do's if he is elected president.
That is one of his PRIORITIES?

5. Well, he's not a big thinker... |
|
I don't think his list of issues is that long... so picking one to be a priority, well... it's not saying much.

4. If he officially runs,... |
|
...he'll be forced to defend his views and actually have to (gasp!) explain what he would do as president and what seperates him from the others.
We certaintly can't have that.

Indecision over getting into the race has cost him much of the glow he once had with conservatives.

8. My guess is he wants Congress back in DC when he announces |
|
That way he his supporters in the Senate and House can be easily trotted out on 24/7 News channels to give glowing endorsements of him. He gets a few days of free media coverage before the 9/11 anniversary stories start. I think your right about dragging this out too long. It is going to be almost impossible to build the kind of organization he needs in Iowa and New Hampshire at this late date.

Good little foot soldiers.
All they could post about today was Fred's announcement and now they are being ordered to wait and they say okay.

odd bird as Patrick Buchanan often is, I found one of his descriptions of Old Fred quite accurate. He said Fred is the guy who climbed the ladder without thinking of the eventual consequences. He wishes he did not have to jump of the diving board, but he doesn't want to humiliate himself by climbing back down.
He will find running to be even more humiliating.

Old Fred had given some "test speeches" a few weeks ago, and that he was terribly disappointing to those who had high hopes for him. He will not be a significant factor after he announces. It is hard to think of anyone being worse at debating than the announced republican candidates. Fred is worse.

22. The GOP is trying to get the Craig audio |
|
off the 24 hour newscycle. They put in a call and begged Thompson to announce, today...NOW.
It doesn't look like its slowing the Craig story down too much, but that is the only card they could play.
