In 1996, the Employment Nondiscrimination Act failed by one vote in the US Senate. Because of that failure, it didn't pass at all and to this day people perceived to be gay can be fired from their jobs in about 3/4 of US states including Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and Ohio in the top ten states. Craig deserves the exact same treatment a gay teacher in his state would get thanks to his own vote. That seems fair to me.
