WAXMAN Gives WH Until 9/10 To Turn Over E-Mail Info - Or Else....
Edited on Thu Aug-30-07 04:47 PM by kpete
Waxman requests missing e-mail information Nick Juliano
Published: Thursday August 30, 2007

The chairman of Congress's investigative committee is requesting information from the White House about up to 5 million missing e-mails after the Bush administration rebuffed an independent group's attempt to learn about the White House's record-keeping practices.

Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, wrote to White House Counsel Fred F. Fielding requesting reports produced within the White House about the missing e-mails.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a private watchdog, previously requested the reports under the Freedom of Information Act, but the White House denied it request with an unorthodox -- and precedent reversing -- claim that the Office of Administration, which maintained the records, was not subject to the public records law.

...............................

Waxman gives the White House until Sept. 10 to turn over the requested information, which he first requested three months ago, though he does not specify consequences if they refuse. If White House fails to hand over the information, Waxman could issue a formal subpoena and eventually pursue contempt of Congress charges if the administration does not cooperate.

21. Oh no... he'll do more than that...
He'll write a strongly worded letter...

It just pisses me right the fuck off to think that if the shoe were on the other foot, the Republican congressional response would have been to invoke inherent contempt the day after their subpoenas were 'ignored'.

"Or else".....

What???

Tell us what you will do, Henry.

Or will you, too, be ruled by a calculator instead of the Constitution???

4. 9/11, 2007 is sounding more and more interesting
The Iran attack threat, the General Strike and Waxman's wrath.

Sort of the unholy trifecta.

11. EXACTLY!
Remember before 9/11/01 - the missing trillion dollars from the Pentagon - and Bush said he would deal with it and his "budget" after 9/11/01.

HE KNEW that wasn't going to be happening.

28.  9/10/01 Donald Rumsfeld announced that 2.3 Trillion Missing
 Rumsfeld 1 Day Before 911 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlnQTcLHaMM&mode=related&search= :hide: Next ' video is taken from a report on Fox News that was made within hours of the 9/11 attacks. The person reporting is current White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, who was Fox news personality on 9/11/01. The report states, ironically enough, that two offices that were in the Pentagon section that was hit were related to terrorism. One was the "New office of Homeland Defense" and another office that deals with fighting limited wars against terrorism. Amazing Coincidence." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIrM4ZmLdPw

6. Or he will invoke DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION!
"Waxman could issue a formal subpoena and eventually pursue contempt of Congress charges if the administration does not cooperate."

Why would anyone take congress's threats seriously anymore?

Turn them over or we will taunt you a second time!

13. It's an old Charlie Brown cartoon
Lucy was tempting him with the football again.

Charlie Brown was thinking, "I'm not going to fall for this again...I'm going to kick that football!...If she pulls it away again I...I...I don't know what I'll do!"

Sure enough, Lucy pulls the football away and Charlie falls flat on his back again.

As he lay there, stars spinning around his head, Charlie says..."I was right...I didn't know what to do."

Go get 'em, Henry. :eyes:

32. Meh..! So, WH says they need extension until Thanksgiving and another
letter goes out demanding the info by Christmas....and then there's another delay until President's Day and then WH delays until Easter then it goes on and on and on.

Time has passed ....we look like idiots who can't hold this renegade P-Resident accountable for anything. We just let him do "handshakes" as his criminal cronies exit the WH and move on to Carlyle Group or AEI or one of the other think tanks or "Privatized Govt." corps who are already working for the crime family.

UGH.
