Iraq WMD's found - They were in New York at the UN
Chemicals from Iraq inspections found in N.Y.
FBI called in to remove what U.N. inspectors collected 11 years ago

UNITED NATIONS - U.N. weapons inspectors discovered potentially hazardous chemical agents in their office near U.N. headquarters that were probably taken from Iraq’s main chemical weapons facility 11 years ago, officials said Thursday.

“There is no immediate risk or danger,” U.N. deputy spokeswoman Marie Okabe said.
She said there was no evacuation of the office of the U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission known as UNMOVIC, about a block north of U.N. headquarters on Manhattan’s east side, and U.S. authorities were called in to dispose of the material.

Okabe said one of the substances, identified Wednesday, was phosgene suspended in oil, “whose present state is unknown but which could be potentially hazardous.”

5. maybe a message to "Elbaradei praises Tehran for progress in co-op with IAEA"
VIENNA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed Elbaradei said on Thursday in a inner report, referred to the board of governors, that Tehran made "significant step forward" in explaining open issues in its nuclear program.

The report said that Iran, with obviously position changing on its nuclear issues, cooperated with the inspectors of IAEA to settle the pending problems in its nuclear program.

The report pointed out that the agreement on an action plan, achieved by Tehran and the IAEA on Aug. 21 was "a significant step forward."

At the same time, the report confirmed that Iran did not suspend its uranium enrichment activities in term of the resolution of the United Nations Security Council, and its uranium enrichment program in Natanz was slower than expected.

The secretariat of the IAEA on Monday upon the request of Tehran released an understanding about the action plan, achieved by Iran and the IAEA, in which Iran promised to further improve cooperation with the agency.

According to the local media, quoting a senior IAEA official, the Agency expected Iran to fully carry out its commitments, adding that "the key is that Iran ... provides the information that we need" in a time frame.

6. I saw this on the MSN home page
and the first impression I got (and I am sure others also had) was that there were chemical weapons found in NYC that were planted by "terra"-ists.

It always amazes me how the MSM subtly (or often, not so subtly) does its level best to keep the Fear Factor ratcheted up.

:argh:
