This thing smells like a big pile of public relations.

In the hyper-secure parking lots around the White House and we are to believe that this really happened off-screen?

Maybe this has already been covered, but I was looking at some pics that Stephanie posted and started wondering about it. Those pics were the first thing I have seen about this.

2. The pudgy one probably paid somebody to do it
to make it look like he's one of the guys.

If it was left up to his staff, they would have keyed his car.

Yeah those pics set off my bullshit detector too.

4. It was a propaganda job
Air time for KKKarl

He is not just going to go away, his ugly face will pop up again somewhere else and I am sure we are not going to like it.

5. What, the suspicious yet harmless vandalizing of his car in the most secure parking lot in the USA?
How could you think that such a thing was an official act of public relations?

10. I was afraid I was being overly suspicious.
Thanks for setting me straight on the subject, Bucky.

A little dose of reality is good for someone such as me.

6. I can't imagine any un-authorized person would be allowed within
a mile of that car. Appearances folks, appearances.... A good jolly fellow who knows how to take a joke and all that shite.

They infered it was WH staffers giving him a 'send off'

16. Just normal office hi-jinks.However, Karl is anything but normal, so we go looking for HIS motives!
Which I think are as you stated: Karl's just a loveable guy when you get to know him.

13. They arrest people for mooning Karl Rove.
Does anybody really think they let anybody within 50 feet of his car?

14. agreed -- very suspicious
I don't think Karl is much fun to work for, at all. He comes across like the guy who is so unpopular that he has to organize "surprise parties" for himself.

18. Bush did this himself.
He found out that Rove's own staffers were planning to do their own little send-off on Rove's Jag. Acting just as he did when he found out Hillary was planning to go to Afghanistan to eat Thanksgiving dinner with the troops (yes, this was the genesis of the Plastic Turkey photo op), he immediately sent someone to Grainger for a roll of shrinkwrap by way of a toy store for two stuffed eagles, and "decorated" KKKarl's car.

Of course, Rove's staffers were intending to brush-paint the car with Caterpillar Yellow tractor paint, replace the steering wheel with one made from logging chain, remove the timing belt, turn the battery in for recycling, steal all his lug nuts, fill his CD changer with Bartcop Radio CDs, siphon all his gas, glue his doors shut with construction adhesive, use the remainder of the tube to attach about forty of these little guys...

all over his vehicle, then report it as stolen to the police.

So obviously Shrub HAD to get out there.
