I think Senator Craig should fight for his seat!
I didn't think that until 15 minutes ago when I watched Tom Delay talk about the "moral" values of the Republican party. WTF! Tom Delay is the poster child of CRIME. IMO what Craig did was WAY more innocent than what Delay has done.

WHAT'S WORSE! A man who is so afraid of the religous zealets in his party that he begs for sex from strangers in a bathroom, OR a man who cares about NOTHING but power and money. A man who a STOLEN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM THE US TREASURY AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?

Wouldn't it be nice if Craig just said," I'm gay and I'm proud of it!"
"I'm NOT resigning"...

Just a thought........

1. Except for one thing:
All those Republican closet-cases would cower even deeper in their closets after Idahoans jacked Larry Craig's political career in the face in response. Not exactly positive reinforcement.

2. No.
This is not about gay rights. This is about a Republican who did a lot of harm pretending he was something he was not.

7. But shouldn't his age be a consideration. He's in his 70's!

18. My mom and grandmother both, at different times....
Pointed out to me that a bad person is a bad person whether they're 20, 40, 60 or 80. As we can see, he might be in his 70s, yet he's still an evil little freak with respect to his voting record and wishing to do harm to others. So I guess the answer to "but shouldn't age be a consideration" is, it sure wasn't when he was AGGRESSIVELY trolling for SEX in public men's bathrooms! I hope everyone throws him under the bus many times!

20. Let him fight for it. It might be better publicity about what freaks homophobes like Craig are.
I have no sympathy at all. He's despicable. So is Vitter.

5. I just don't regard his sexual orientation as relevant.
Hypocrisy? Hell, Congress is drowning in hypocrisy - along with all of politics.

He's a "Peeper" ... a person who violates the privacy of others for whatever prurient interests he might have. He lied to a police officer. He peaded 'not guilty' and then violated the conditions for acceptance of that plea.

The longer he stays around, the more it shows how obscenely hypocritical the "political class" is ... they (almost) ALL protect their own and have a "separate but superior" attitude, imho.

Maybe some would think I'm from another planet ... but I just don't.

(That doesn't mean I have to say anything, though.)

12. Bingo!
Gay = OK by me.
Closeted gay = Ok by me.
Hypocritical closeted gay = Borderline, but I suppose people do have the right to a private life, even when that conflicts with their public statements.
Peeping Tom = Not even a little ok.
Soliciting sex in a public bathroom = WAY not ok.

14. Those moral values are supposed to come generally from their Christian beliefs
Which, they may have forgotten, includes forgiveness.

22. I can't get past Craig calling Clinton a naughty nasty boy.
That is what bothers me the most.

Soliciting sex in the mens room isn't a crime that hurts anyone (except yourself if you happen to solicit a police officer). I'm not even sure why it is a crime. If consenting adults want to hook up - I really don't care how they go about doing it.
