Michael Ware Just Said: The President's Spokesman is Trying to Mislead the Country
The guy on CNN whose been in Iraq for just about ever.

I didn't think you could say that on tv. :wow:

He suggested that Tony Snow should go live with an Iraqi family for ONE DAY and then talk about 'progress in Iraq'

:wow:

he's pretty much the only voice coming out of Iraq

5. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't committed suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head 3
times.:scared:

If he makes it out of Iraq, it will be a miracle. He must have some MAJOR protection.

7. I loved it when he said a while back to someone who was saying that things were going good over
there, he said only those who enjoy the luxury of distance could say that.

2. He was nearly executed by the religious extremist element of the insurgency
He was saved by the senior commander of the nationalist element, whose car he was riding in. This senior commander apparently said "This man is our guest. If you kill him, we will go to war with you."

3. Wow. I didn't know that
Since he's been there quite a while, I expect he's had more than one close call.

6. If anything happens to him, there will be NO ONE. If the US still has any media of its own there..
I don't think they've been outside the Pentagon canteens in the Green Zone for more than 5 minutes in the last 2-3 years.

There isn't a night that Woof Blitzer doesn't try to get Ware to revise his commentary to take on more conciliatory tones toward the Bush propaganda. Ware won't do it.

He is an admirable and singularly authentic and memorable journalist in this ugly chapter of world history. Balls of steel.

9. Don't forget Arwa
I think her last name is spelled Daman - sounds like: dayman.

She is very Brave, and also straight about the situation on Iraq.

Currently reports for CNN as well.

10. Someone needs to remind Michael Ware...
...how many journos have been murdered in Iraq over the last four years -- I would think Darth Cheney need only pick up the phone.

13. Michael Ware seems
to be a real reporter who puts himself in harms way to get the story to Americans, Tony Snow puts himself in harms way by reporting lies to the American people from the WH.... So who do you believe...
