tornadoes...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070830/ap_on_sc/storms_climate_change

I just think this is already starting to happen. Last month we had a storm with green clouds and tornadoes at 10000 feet in the middle of the mountains. I felt like I was in the middle of the Kansas plains somewhere....totally weird and like the nightmares I had as a kid. I kept telling my son "we dont get tornadoes up here, its ok", boy was I wrong.

Anyone else noticed anything?

and dont talk about gay senators or Britney Spears. Im trying to enjoy my evening.

1. There have been three tornadoes recorded here
in the central Rio Grande Valley. Two of them were last year.

You bet I've noticed.

4. I've noticed more big ass hail reports
I've been paying attention since experiencing a thumping from hail clusters as big as my fist and the strange hailfog that came with it. That was in March 06 during a small tornado that went through southern Missouri. It seems there have been a lot more reports of baseball/softball size hail in the last couple of years.

10. We had a tornado in Pittsburgh this summer.
It actually damaged some buildings downtown. I had to hide in the basement for an hour.

We NEVER have tornadoes here. The topography is too weird for tornado formation, at least when you have normal weather patterns across the US. If this wasn't the first tornado we've had here, it is close to it.

Very strange.

12. Exactly. Usually we are too mountainous for tornadoes, I wish
climatologists could predict a little better what will change!!!!! I know its not their fault because there are SO many factors at work, but still one can wish....

13. There was a tornado in Brooklyn for Pete's sake
The view from the Brooklyn Bridge must have been stunning. It was Brooklyn's first reported tornado in its history. The winds last winter here in Virginia ripped off half of our tin roof. Sometimes I felt like I was in the Wizard of Oz and this old farmhouse I live in was going to lift off the ground and go flying through the air. We've had record heat this past month. Lately it's felt more like the summer bayous of Louisiana, rather than the cooler air of the mountains. Freaky stuff and I suspect mother nature is trying to warn us of her incredible powers.
