WHITE HOUSE: Benchmarks were "too high"
The Bush administration on Thursday played down a key report on Iraq that concluded the Baghdad government had failed to meet most of the security and political benchmarks set out by the US Congress.

The Government Accountability Office, the oversight arm of Congress, concluded that the Iraqi government had met only three of the 18 benchmarks the US legislature established to help measure the success of the troop "surge".

The White House said the GAO report, which was leaked to the Washington Post, was "unhelpful" because it set the bar for success so high that it was almost guaranteed to find failure.

Oh really? They set the benchmarks "too high"? Well that shows that they are incapable of making realistic assessments and then executing even remotely close to their own published benchmarks.

Then again, perhaps it's true - they were too high for them to meet. Unfortunately it was their benchmarks to begin with, and they all wanted to "wait for the report" which shows they weren't monitoring the deteriorating situation. No interim report? This is crap.

These guys are true LIBs. Lying, Incompetent, or Both.

3. What gives you the right to give an occupied government
"benchmarks" in the first place.

The folks who should be meeting benchmarks aren't the Iraqis; the folks who should be meeting the benchmarks are the good ol' folks at the white house and the Pentagon.

Alternatively, getting the troops out and allowing the Iraqis to fix their own infrastructure and sell their own oil is a good idea. Let's not forget the reparations that IRAQ is paying to anyone and everyone who thinks they were hurt by the war-that-wasn't in Kuwait. Perhaps they should be GETTING reparations from the American government.

You fuckers questioned my patriotism, you fuckers shredded the Constitution, you fuckers tortured people, lied about it, exposed our intelligence resources, pardoned the felons, and now you fuckers are whining that the standards are too fucking high?! Fuck you.

Have I mentioned how much I hate these fuckers?

15. This is the same crap as setting recruiting goals
then failing to meet those goals

then lowering the goals

and then claiming recruitment is going well (compared to the new lower goals)

This is just some kind of psychologically-defective alternate government universe where consistency between lies doesn't even matter as long as the blame is anyone elses but theirs.

I've been with someone like that for many years, and I can tell you it's a real psychological hellhole and not a fun way to live.

Hey, why don't we claim the new benchmark is to keep the maximum monthly kill rate of our troops to under 1000? Then, when it's "only" 250 or whatever, they can claim in keeping the kill rate so low.

Fucktards.
