Now hear this: Sen. David Vitter (R-Duh) wears diapers!
That's right, diapers! And he pays people to put them on him!

Good thing for him those people are female, and they diaper him in their apartments rather than, say, Louis Armstrong International Airport. This way he gets to keep his committee assignments, there's no talk of him resigning, and in general he gets to go on with his life.

1. If all he paid for was to be diapered...
then he has done nothing illegal.

2. He also never pled guilty to anything.
So newspapers have to use words like "allegedly" and "supposedly" and "reportedly," which allows it to look more like a he said/she said thing rather than an actual, verifiable fact.

4. There's a difference between acts between consenting adults, and
requiring that strangers participate in perversions in public restrooms.

7. True, but Vitter also broke the law.
Prostitution is still illegal even though I think it shouldn't be.

Normally I wouldn't care if a person visited a prostitute or had a bizarre fetish, however Vitter can't shut up about 'family values' and 'morality'. Futhermore he uses his position as a senator to deny equal rights to other people who do not fit into the Christian Coalition mold.

So I think that all of these people need to be exposed and sent packing. I'm a typically optimistic person, but I'm realistic enough to know that exposure will not change their positions.

9. Well, people paying for sex doesn't bother me, but
people trying to interact with me in a sexual context while I'm trying to take a shit is a little bothersome.

15. I don't recall
hearing of anyone recently raping anyone in a public restroom. Maybe you can enlighten us.

14. So the big difference here is that Vitter didn't cop a plea?
And it has not a thing to do with Craig being gay? If you believe that, I have some oil property on Maui I'd like to show you. :sarcasm:

Louisiana Republican Senator engaged in illegal prostitution. He committed adultery against his wife and brought the U.S. Senate into dishonor. He also knowingly hid his criminal involvement in prostitution from not only his wife, but the public and his fellow Senators. This is essentially identical to the problems now faced by Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig: illegal sexual activity, adultery, shabby behaviour, lying and cover-up.

Fellow Republican Senator, Mitch McConnell, wasted no time whatsoever in recommending that Senator Craig be reviewed by the Senate Ethics Committee. Senator Vitter's abhorrent behavior and criminal activity, on the other hand, has not been recommended to the Ethics Committee even to this day. Why is this?
