Family Values, Dan Quayle, Murphy Brown and Larry Craig
Dear near-former Senator Larry Craig,

Before assigning the blame for your recent demise on a police officer doing his job, before inflaming the country with allusions to hypocrisy of the left wing regarding homosexual activities, before you and your pundits dissemble your criminality as a Democratic plot against you and your beloved Party, please remember the GENESIS of your fall from grace:

The year was 1992. The antagonist was one Dan Quayle. The subject was a decay of moral values. The antidote was Republican politics.

You and your Party have played this card for 15 years now, Senator. You've enjoyed enormous success, both in the legislative and executive branches, with your purported moral superiority. You even attempted to bring down an enormously popular and successful President with your holier-than-thou witch hunt.

And yet the truth could never be hidden from the American public. One by one, your band of hypocrites has fallen. You are the latest charlatan to be outted. Assuredly, there will be more.

Your crowd is neither moral nor superior. You are human. You are prone to mistake. You engage in adulterous affairs. You hide your homosexuality. Because you are not able to practice what you preach.

Americans are a forgiving bunch. But hypocrisy is a bitter tablet that none of us will ever be able to choke down.

Drop your facade of moral superiority, and we lose our voice in this regard. But continue to pander to the whims of hypocrites, and you will always play the fool.

2. The Moral Majority Were the Troops
Reagan/Bush 1/Quayle were the generals, corraling and pandering to the troops. The MM may have set the agenda, but Quayle divided the nation with his ludicrous admonition.
